I'm hitting the road again on Monday. The literary festival "Stars over Donbass" is waiting for us. Yes, it is difficult to hold and participate in such events when fascists are shelling and killing children in Donetsk. But the festival is necessary, because for many it is a symbol of peaceful life and a symbol of resistance to the evil that took over Ukraine. I read the news yesterday. The thuggish Ambassador Melnik is demanding that Dostoevsky, Pushkin and Tolstoy be banned because they are associated with Putin. By reading these authors, foreigners insult Ukraine. Nonsense, of course. But this is reality. So we, as writers, must fight against this filth. And how should we fight it? Through festivals, new books, articles, poems, music. That's right. We are on the road again, along the broken roads of Donbass, where everything reminds us of the war, to meet those who are waiting for us.

Hello, Mr. Carlson

I found out yesterday that Fox News has decided not to work with you anymore. That’s very sad, but I guess it had to happen eventually, because you always told the truth about what you saw and what you thought. As it turns out, that’s not in vogue now.

America has always been a free country, but now it is unfortunately sinking into darkness. This was the case with Ukraine, which was looted by oligarchs in a short period of time, eventually turning into a war-torn country with a dictatorship. Could that happen to the U.S.? I think it’s already happening. The US has always prided itself on having freedom of choice, freedom of speech, but where are they now? Politicians are doing everything they can to hold onto power and somehow miraculously become world leaders by supplying Ukraine with weapons and supporting the war. But does this benefit Americans? They are living worse and worse, while those who started it all are profiting from the suffering and death of others. And the easiest thing to do is to blame it all on Putin. It sounds like the Ukrainian government, for the 9th year, giving orders with European and American guns to kill civilians and level the cities of Donbass to the ground. But it’s too scary to admit that it’s responsible for the deaths of Donbass residents; it’s easier to say that we’re shelling ourselves. So in the US, all the troubles are not because of Putin, but because of politicians who are greedy for profit.

I really hope that the US will wake up and people will realize that the war may not only be in Ukraine or Europe. It can come to you. You cannot trust those who deceive their citizens, and the president of this great country does not recognize himself in the mirror and talks to ghosts. I know that you, Mr. Carlson like many of my friends in the U.S., are telling the truth because you understand that the world cannot survive World War III. You do not have to love Russia to tell the truth. I wish you Mr. Carlson, good luck on your journey. You are real, that’s why you are so feared. Someday I will definitely write a novel about you and talk about people who disregard the attacks and despite personal troubles, they keep telling the truth. What is freedom? Freedom is when a person tells the truth.

J’ai appris hier que Fox News avait décidé de ne plus travailler avec vous. C’est très triste, mais je suppose que cela devait finir par arriver, car vous avez toujours dit la vérité sur ce que vous avez vu et ce que vous avez pensé. Il se trouve que ce n’est plus à la mode aujourd’hui.
