The cryptocurrency has two major disadvantages:
1. Although it is said that cryptocurrency distributes power among the people, they can't behave like governments like whenever they want to pump huge amount of money into the economy, they will pump, no it isn't, a single cryptocurrency isn't produced like a paper being printed, it takes too much time, energy and resources to solve that hashed algorithm.
2. People aren't as responsible as the governments are. Like all the governments around the world, some howsoever nasty they might be, they haven't been irresponsible with the printing and handling of money, and if they do, whole country can go bankrupt and so that's kind of big lessons for many governments and that's why they handle their money carefully. People can't handle their own money carefully which is in their pockets. They cannot logically think most of the times.
Both of these above disadvantages can be solved if taken proper measures and cryptocurrency can be made next-generation money
