The 'image of the mission' was taken by the Navigation Camera onboard the Rover (NavCam).

#Chandrayaan-3 - Presence of Sulphur (S) in the lunar surface near the south pole confirmed by Rover, through first-ever in-situ measurements.

Al, Ca, Fe, Cr, Ti, Mn, Si, and O are also detected, as expected. Search for Hydrogen (H) is underway.

Chandrayaan-3 Mission:
In-situ Scientific Experiments

Another instrument onboard the Rover confirms the presence of Sulphur (S) in the region, through another technique.

The Alpha Particle X-ray Spectroscope (APXS) has detected S, as well as other minor elements.

This finding by Ch-3 compels scientists to develop fresh explanations for the source of Sulphur (S) in the area: intrinsic?, volcanic?, meteoritic?,......?.

Details released by ISRO on India's First Sun Observatory Mission

🔸Aditya-L1 will stay approximately 1.5 million km away from Earth, directed towards the Sun, which is about 1% of the Earth-Sun distance.
🔸The Sun is a giant sphere of gas and Aditya-L1 would study the outer atmosphere of the Sun.
🔸Aditya-L1 will neither land on the Sun nor approach the Sun any closer.
