THE QUEEN OF PARAÑAQUE
Our Lady of the Good Event
---
Today, the diocese of Parañaque in the Philippines honors Nuestra Señora del Buen Suceso or Our Lady of the Good Event. Many, however, mistranslate the name to Our Lady of “Good Success.” The Spanish friars gave that noscript to the image after an 8-year-old child picked the noscript six times from a jar containing several Marian noscripts. Many miracles are attributed to the image. It received pontifical coronation in the year 2000.

CASES OF SUSPENDED BEATIFICATIONS
---
There had been very recent cases when dates for beatifications were scheduled, but were suspended indefinitely. The Venerable Leon Dehon was supposed to be beatified on 24 April 2005 but the Holy See suspended his beatification. The Venerable Fulton Sheen was supposed to be beatified on 21 December 2019 but it was also suspended. Thorough investigations are still taking place. They can still be beatified. However, we now rely on God’s grace with regards to their causes.
