Hanoi Police Bust Crypto Scam: $1M Saved and 300 Victims Protected 🚔💰

Vietnamese police stepped up as superheroes, shutting down Million Smiles, a company that ironically brought no smiles to anyone. The scammers were promoting the fake token QFS, promising access to a "magical" financial ecosystem.

What happened?
$1.17M saved and 300 people protected from falling into the scam.
Police raided offices, seized computers, and exposed the token as a fraud.

Who got scammed?
100 businesses and 400 individuals had already fallen for the scheme, investing up to $1,350 each.

The takeaway: Don’t trust tokens that promise spiritual enlightenment and no-collateral loans. Vietnam isn’t a safe haven for crypto scammers.
Bottom line: stick to blockchain strategies, not fairy tales about "million-dollar smiles."

Why Does Times Square Drop a Ball Every Year? The Story Behind the Iconic New Year’s Tradition 🎆

Every New Year’s Eve, Times Square becomes the center of the universe. All eyes are on one dazzling question: "Why does that giant sparkling ball drop?"
The tradition actually comes from maritime time balls, which helped sailors synchronize their clocks. But in 1907, New York decided to add its own flair. The first ball was made of wood and iron, with just 100 light bulbs. Today, it’s a 12-foot crystal marvel adorned with 32,000 LED lights capable of producing 16.7 million colors.

Why does it drop? The ball symbolizes saying goodbye to the old year and embracing hope for the new one. The 60-second drop is timed perfectly, giving everyone a chance to make their wishes before midnight strikes.

Fun fact: Other U.S. cities have their own "drops." Atlanta drops a giant peach 🍑, and Mobile, Alabama, drops a massive MoonPie.

No matter what’s falling, the spirit of celebration always rises. Times Square just does it best.

South Korea: Can Justice Triumph in a System Rooted in Dictatorship?

Yoon Suk-yeol, whose policies and declaration of martial law led to charges of treason and abuse of power, now faces an arrest warrant. In a country where democracy is often strained by authoritarian tendencies, this is an unprecedented moment.

The big question:
South Korea, though seen as a democratic nation, has a history of governance bordering on despotism. So, could justice truly prevail here?
On one hand, the judiciary has shown courage by issuing an arrest warrant for a (currently impeached) sitting president. On the other, whether this warrant is enforced or circumvented will reveal the true independence of the country’s institutions.

What’s at stake?
If South Korea manages to follow through, it could set a powerful precedent showing that even nations with authoritarian legacies can uphold justice. But if this escalates into resistance, civil unrest, or political maneuvering, hopes for democracy could face another setback.

A triumph of justice would mark a historic step for South Korea — but does the courage exist to see it through?
