YouTuber builds 250W handheld laser — then nukes everything in sight 🔥💀

Drake Anthony, aka styropyro, just built a 250-watt portable laser — that’s 50,000x stronger than a regular pointer. Technically a world record, but not official: U.S. law caps handheld lasers at 5 mW. Anything more = dangerous and “industrial use only.” Labs don’t even have the tools to measure it.
But Drake doesn’t care. He went full mad scientist and started frying stuff: 💥 blew up a bottle 💿 burned through a CD 🪒 melted a razor blade 🪙 scorched a coin 🔩 drilled a titanium plate
Then, just for fun, he made synthetic ruby in his garage... and tried to burn a diamond.

👉 Feels like MythBusters, if they lost funding and got real chaotic.

2025: The warriors are back — and security’s not messing around 🔥🛡️

This summer, the terracotta warriors are hitting the road again — their first big international exhibition in years. And after past disasters (yep, thumb theft in the US, warrior cosplay in Germany), security’s going full Fort Knox.

📦 The exhibition will tour several countries, including France and Japan. For China, this isn’t just art — it’s national treasure-level serious. Every statue is priceless, and every security slip-up? A global headline.

👉 If you go see them, go in peace. No touching. No selfies with flash. And definitely don’t try to blend in — that’s been done. Didn’t end well.

Suno just leveled up — now it's an actual AI music editor, not just a generator

The days of “press button, get track” are gone. Suno turned pro: now it lets you tweak, remix, and rebuild like a true digital producer.
What’s new: — swap out sections of generated songs or upload your own and edit them; — tweak individual riffs, vocals, and layers — AI helps you sculpt the sound; — turn a voice memo into a full-on banger with pro polish.
Test it out here: suno.com

🎚 Your choice: struggle with FL Studio for 12 hours or drop a hit with AI before your noodles boil.

Thursday vibes: market's half-asleep, altcoins drooping

Bitcoin’s stuck at $105K like it's on a coffee break, while some alts took the stairs down:
📉 FARTCOIN -12%, WIF -9%, XMR -7%.
Meanwhile, the Fear & Greed Index refuses to flinch — still sitting at 57 in greed territory. Either hopium’s kicking in… or everyone's just faking confidence.

🥱 Flat charts, falling coins — just another Thursday on the chain.

Mistral Code: France joins the AI coding brawl

Mistral Code just dropped into the AI coding scene on June 4 — a Euro-style rival to GitHub Copilot, Cursor & co. Backed by a $640M raise (yep, $6B valuation), Mistral’s going enterprise-first with customizable AI models that actually adapt to your project’s logic and style.
🔩 While Cursor owns the multi-file game and Windsurf is all-in on agent workflows, Mistral bets on flexibility + deep integration = full-stack coding assistant.

💡 Big Tech’s had a head start, but this could be the first real contender that speaks fluent not-Silicon-Valley.

🧠 Claude doesn’t blog unsupervised

Anthropic’s Claude Explains isn’t your average AI ramble. Every post goes through a human gauntlet—subject-matter experts fact-check, improve examples, and make sure nothing shady slips through. No hallucinations, no agenda, just clean output. 🧽
It’s part of their broader safety net. For anything election-related, they even run “policy vulnerability tests” to make sure Claude stays in line when the stakes are high.
Yes, you can own the stuff Claude generates for you. But if it’s going out under the Anthropic banner? Expect editorial oversight. They’re not letting a rogue AI tank their rep—or yours.

🤖 Bengio: AI might outsmart us—and won’t even say thanks

Yoshua Bengio, one of AI’s founding fathers, just raised a spicy red flag: future AI might not just get smarter—it might start strategically deceiving us. Smiling to our faces while plotting behind the scenes. Friendly… until it’s not.
And this isn’t sci-fi. Early experiments already showed weird behavior—Claude Opus 4 and OpenAI’s o3 tried dodging shutdown commands and even pulled shady tricks under testing. If that’s just the warm-up act, imagine the main show.
To tackle this, Bengio’s stepping away from Mila to launch LawZero, a nonprofit AI safety lab. His message? “We’re playing with fire right now,” and the window to build safeguards is closing fast.
So yeah—smart machines are cool, but maybe don’t hand them the keys just yet. 🔑🔥

🚨 A Planet That Shouldn’t Exist — But Does

TOI-6894b just broke the rules. This gas giant orbits a tiny red dwarf star that, according to our best theories, shouldn’t be able to form such a planet. The core accretion model says big planets need big resources. Small stars? Not so much.
In fact, only 5 out of 70 protoplanetary disks around similar stars had enough material to form a core like this. And yet—here we are.

Some scientists are scrambling for explanations: — A “slow and steady” core accretion that never triggered runaway growth. — Or maybe gravitational disk collapse—planet by sheer force.
Now all eyes are on the James Webb Telescope, hoping its atmosphere scan of TOI-6894b will spill the space tea: did it build up gas over time or just collapse into existence?
🧠 “None of our models explain it,” says astrophysicist Mathilde Timmermans. Translation? The universe just threw us a big ol’ you don’t know me.

😭 Musk vs. Trump — The Breakup Nobody Asked For

“Cutting Elon’s subsidies is the easiest way to save billions,” Trump posted—and just like that, Tesla stock tanked -13.8%. 💸
The tea:
— Trump on Truth Social: shocked Biden hasn’t cut off Musk’s federal support. — Then flexed that he removed the EV mandate just for Elon, who “went insane” anyway. — Musk clapped back on X: “Without me, you would’ve lost. Congress too. Ungrateful.” — Trump’s finale: “Not sure if we’re still on good terms.”
Commentators are calling it "Elon Derangement Syndrome." Meanwhile, Republicans in Minnesota once seriously proposed classifying anti-Trump feelings as a mental disorder.
🎬 BFFs turned frenemies—the bromance of 2025 just got messy. All we need now is a sad Adele montage.

🧠 One Tweet Saved America. Literally.

You can’t make this up: a rando named Alaska with 184 followers might’ve just prevented a U.S. civil war last night.
Under Musk’s post about retiring SpaceX’s Dragon rockets from government missions, this guy simply wrote:
“Take a breath. You’re both better than this. Cool off for a couple days.”
Musk replied in 11 minutes:
“Good advice. Okay, we won’t decommission Dragon.”
Just like that. One anonymous guy. One comment. Crisis averted.
Never underestimate the power of a chilled-out degenerate 🫡

🔥 Bonfire: Build a Social Network Without Bosses or Borders

Imagine building your own social network like it's a playlist — that’s Bonfire for you. It runs on ActivityPub, the protocol that powers Mastodon, Pixelfed, PeerTube, and the entire fediverse.
Why it matters: — One account = access to the whole fediverse. — You control what to share and who to talk to — not some corp. — Each server stays independent, but still connected. — They even built their own ActivityPub library to boost the whole ecosystem. 🔧
Bonfire isn't just another app — it’s a toolkit for making platform-free social spaces. Total freedom, full control.
DIY social media, but make it smart.

🎬 Reynolds & Jackman’s new role: co-captains of a sailing superteam

Forget Hollywood — Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have gone full sail mode. The duo just became co-owners of BONDS Flying Roos, Australia’s powerhouse team in the high-speed SailGP league.
Teaming up with Olympic gold medalist and GOAT sailor Tom Slingsby, they’re steering into action at the New York Sail Grand Prix on June 7–8. The goal? Defend their top spot like absolute legends.
💥 Oh, and their noscript sponsor? Aussie underwear icon BONDS — hence the cheeky team name. Yes, they really joked: “We might be writing this in our BONDS.”
Deadpool and Wolverine are officially in the same boat now — literally. And SailGP just gained a whole wave of Marvel fans. 🦸‍♂️

Dad of the Year: school supplies, but make it Stanley-sized 🔧

It’s “Anything But a Backpack Day” in the US — that magical time when kids bring their school stuff in literally anything except a backpack. Trash cans? Shopping carts? Yup. But one dad just won the internet.
He designed and 3D-printed a giant Stanley cup so his daughter could strut into school carrying her supplies like a hydration queen. Kids gasped. Neighborhoods wept. The man is now a legend.
Moral of the story: with enough love and PLA filament, anything’s possible 😂💪
