NFT 2.0: Open Standard vs. Minting API

We’ve seen active discussions and questions around how NFT 2.0 works and how stores can access it. Here's how it works

Two Different Things:

1️⃣ NFT 2.0 Standard (Available Now)

The NFT 2.0 standard is open and fully documented. Any project, protocol, indexer, or marketplace can implement NFT 2.0 support right now by following the public documentation.

There are no limitations. Anyone can build with it.

2️⃣ Mint Platform API (Beta Access)

Separate from the standard itself is the Mint Platform API — a tool that simplifies the NFT minting process.

This API is currently in beta testing with limited access via API keys. Initial partners were selected based on:

▪️ Active collection launches 
▪️ Large-scale IP sticker releases 
▪️ Technical integration readiness

Why Beta?

The testing phase ensures stability, scalability, and optimal user experience before public release. Once testing is complete, the Mint Platform API will open to everyone.

Timeline: Early next year (2026)

Your Options:

If you want to work with NFT 2.0 now, you can implement the open standard yourself using the documentation. If you prefer a simplified minting process, the Mint Platform API will be publicly available in early 2026.
