My review on Leleka from PÖFF | Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival:
"The film is shot from two perspectives—black-and-white for Sasha and colour for Margaux — emphasising that Sasha’s European friend sees the world in familiar tones, while Sasha herself is burdened with concern for her country’s fate. Hutter wrote the noscript together with Olga Kviatkovska, whom he met in Paris. Just like her character Sasha, Olga had to leave Kyiv when the war began. The actress spent a great deal of time with other Ukrainian refugees, recording their experiences to help shape the film."

… unhurried road movie invites viewers to reflect on the price that Ukrainians pay to defend their homeland — and on the longing that Ukrainian refugees feel for the country they had to leave behind.

I just had a 1:1 interview with wonderful Kate Winslet about her directorial debut, Goodbye June (coming soon to Netflix). The film tells the story of a woman, played by Helen Mirren, who dies on Christmas surrounded by her large family. I told Kate that both my aunt and my grandmother died on Christmas, and she was so deeply moved that it actually took some effort to steer the conversation back to the film.

Father Mother Sister Brother
… quite literally the old, familiar Jarmusch that audiences remember from the 1990s.

Goodbye June
... adiates warmth, emotional clarity, and genuine compassion.
Un hiver russe (A Russian Winter)
by Patric Chiha
France 2026
Panorama Dokumente | World premiere | Documentary form
After the invasion of Ukraine, many people in Russia faced a brutal choice: prison, the army – or exile. Margarita, Yuri and their friends
are caught in the crosscurrents of history, with no way to return home, but also no place where they feel truly welcome.
CAN I ASK YOU WHY???
