በኢትዮጵያ የኩረጃ ደረጃ ምን ያህል ነው? ሀገርንስ ምን ያህል ይጎዳል? በሚል በ2004 በተደረገ ጥናት 90 በመቶ የሚሆኑ ተማሪዎች ኮራጅ መሆናቸው ተረጋግጧል ሲሉ በአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርስቲ የአካቶ ትምህርት ክፍል ተመራማሪ የሆኑት አለማየሁ ተ/ማሪያም (ዶ/ር) ገልፀዋል፡፡

ተመራማሪው በኢትዮጵያ ቴሌቪዥን ዳጉ ፕሮግራም በነበራቸው ቆይታ፤ በቀደመው የትምህርት ሥርዓት የመመዘኛ ፈተናዎች የሚሰጡበት ሂደት ለኩረጃ ምቹ እንደነበሩ ተናገረዋል፡፡

ተማሪዎች በፈተና ወቅት የማያውቁትን ጥያቄ መልስ ከሌሎች ለመቅዳት ድሮም ይሞክሩ እንደነበር ገልጸው፤ አሁን ላይ ሥር ሰዶ በዘመቻ መል የሚካሄድ ሆኗል ሲሉ ነው የተናገሩት፡፡

ተማሪዎች ከትምህርቱ በበለጠ የኩረጃ መንገዶችን ያጠናሉ የሚሉት ተመራማሪው፤ በጥናቱ 27 የሚሆኑ የኩረጃ ዘዴዎች እንዳሉ ደርሰንበታል ብለዋል፡፡
በዚህ ሂደት ውስጥ ተማሪዎች ብቻ ሳይሆኑ ወላጆች ልጆቻቸው እንዲያልፉ ከመፈለግ አንፃር እንዲሁም መምህራን፣ ርዕሰ መምህራን፣ የክልል ትምህርት ቢሮ ኃላፊዎች ጭምር ለኩረጃው እገዛ እንደሚያደርጉ ይናገራሉ፡፡

ይህም ፈተናውን አልፈው ወደ ዩኒቨርስቲ የሚገቡ ተማሪዎች የሥብዕና ጉድለት እንደሚታይባቸው እዲሁም መሰረታዊ የሆነው መፃፍ እና ማንበብ ሲቸግራቸው እንመለከታለን ይላሉ፡፡

ተመራማሪው፤ ከፈተና አሰጣጥ በተጨማሪ ለግምት አጋላጭ የሆኑ የፈተና ዓይነቶችን ለማስተካከል መስራት እንደሚገባ አዲሱ የፈተና ሥርዓት ያመላከተ መሆኑንም ይናገራሉ፡፡

በተለይም የተጀመረው የበይነ በረብ (ኦን ላይን) ፈተና አሰጣጥ ሲጠናከር የተንሰራፋውን የኩረጃ መጠን በመቀነስ እና ተማሪዎችን በማብቃት ረገድ ላቅ ያለ ሚና ይኖረዋል ነው ያሉት፡፡

There are three kinds of relationships people have with God.

One is the person in situations. This person would go through the chaos of life and defines God accordingly. "God if you're with me why is my life so hard" "If God is so kind why are kids dying" "If God's so good why did my friend get sick"

These people let situation define the nature, goodness, loyalty, caring, love of God. They see through situations. If Situations are Good, God is good. If Situations are bad, God is bad.

The second kind of people are the ones outside situations but floating in the abyss of baseless thoughts. They know of God but they don't know God. "Yes sickness is real, but if you connect with the universe that's where true healing is" "With enough meditation you can be set free" "Everything will end up being good" "All religions lead to God"

These people try to disassociate themselves from the unbearable forces of worldly situations but are adrift in space with nothing to hold on to. They're somewhat separate enough from situations but don't invite God to allow Him to set them completely free.

The third kind are the people that let God be defined separately. They don't attach situations, coincidence, existence, happenstances define who God really is. "Situation can be horrific but God is still good" "I may be dying but God has been so kind to me" "Even if God doesn't do anything more for me, He has been so good to me!"

These people are the ones we should aspire to be. These people understand that the reason God speaks so much about Himself in the bible isn't because He's just full of Himself but is because people, situations and the world has ruined His image so much that He had to set it straight.
