🕊 What does Rêber Apo mean to you?
We spread Quotes by Rêber Apo at the opening ceremony of the football stadium in the frame of the Şehîd Bawer Agir Youth festival in Kobanê and asked the people what Rêber Apo means to them.
Şehîd Bawer Agir was an important figure in the Youth Movement in Kurdistan.
The festival was connected to sports and culture. During the day, activities for the little ones were held as well as other kinds of activities like chess games. During the afternoon, dance and music groups performed and football games were played.
The festival ended after the third day. Thousands of residents from the Euphrates canton and representatives of the autonomous administration attended the festival.
We keep the struggle of the ones who preceded us; with the same strength and conviction of Şehîd Bawer Agir. We stand and we keep demanding the physical freedom of Rêber Apo.
Şehîd Namirin, Bijî Rêber Apo!

☀️The Message of Rêber Apo for 25th November:
Society is not a single-layered class structure; it is a field of struggle based on gender, is historical, and is composed of many layers. The first and greatest problem of humanity is the counter-revolution, which began with the enslavement of woman and attacked the socialisation built around her. Domestic violence, the murder of women, and the oppression of patriarchy are all signs and a continuation of this historical attack. The caste structure that attacked the communality and socialisation around women later transformed in Mesopotamia into the council of gods, the Sumerian priests, and from there into pharaohs and kings, thus making patriarchal oppression over society permanent.
In this era, the woman is capitalism's most valuable raw material. Her body is sold, her personality is offered to the market. The woman whose spirit has also been occupied by man, lives with the very dagger of slavery that the patriarchal system has stabbed in her back. The patriarchal social hierarchy, created by the millennia-long civilisational war, brings with it violence and war. Patriarchal civilisation with the state has taken the voice, production, the female body, and subsequently, society from women. Until this truth is recognised, no step can be taken towards freedom.
The problematic situation that the patriarchal system has imposed upon women must be understood and resolved. When one considers the killing of women, domestic violence, violence against women, and discrimination-based colonialism, the extent of their enslavement is far greater than one might expect. Women have been completely subjugated. Her reality has been turned upside down. The trinkets that women wear for adornment and status, the piercings they wear on their noses, are all signs of slavery that have persisted throughout history. Within capitalist modernity, the enslavement of women has become even deeper; the system has transformed women into an instrument of the market and adornment. To be liberated from this systematic enslavement, to achieve freedom, requires profound depth and organisation.
No social freedom movement can be a genuine revolution unless it makes women's freedom its cornerstone. I see the relationships between women and men as very problematic. We made women's liberation our principle and evaluated relationships accordingly. The largest part of our work is the work concerning women. It is important to understand the relationship and conflict between women and men. We have analysed and assessed male domination, which hinders women's freedom and enslaves women in every way. We have created a sociology of freedom. It is clear that being a woman is difficult, and liberation is not easy, but women must do this with courage. To remove the dagger of male domination that has been stabbed into the back of humanity and to build a free and democratic life, they must take the lead."

Interview with Mustafa Karasu: "The PKK is a turning point in Kurdish history"
Interview with Mustafa Karasu, founding member of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) on the anniversary of the PKK’s founding:
☀️"This struggle has grown over not just six months, but over four or five generations. Almost everyone in Kurdistan today has grown up witnessing this struggle and becoming familiar with the values it has created.
🔥 "A new culture has been created, a new culture of struggle has emerged."
🌱 "Women, who created the first society and created humanity, have been subjected to tremendous pressure in the Middle East, and the women who created Middle Eastern society have been relegated to a very backward position. But today, in line with Rêber Apo's ideas, Kurdish women have become the most free-thinking women not only in the Middle East but in the world."

🔥Heval Cemal (Murat Karayilan) on the anniversary of the founding of the PKK:
"Before us already socialist leaders and movements, were talking about women’s rights and the equality of women and men. This sentences were used. But Rêber Apo’s approach was more foundational. Rêber Apo said: the earliest class that had been enslaved was the women. First the Women was oppressed and until Women aren’t free society will not be free. Because of this first a women’s revolution is necessary."

🔥MESSAGE FROM ÖCALAN TO AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN ISTANBUL
"I address you today from İmralı Island under the conditions of isolation of 26 years, at a moment when a new dialogue with the state over the Kurdish question in search for peace and a democratic society has resumed again. To address you, at the International Conference on Peace and Democratic Society, on the path of rebuilding socialism, is both meaningful and significant. [...]
The PKK has fulfilled its historical mission by securing the national existence of the Kurdish people, while also exposing the limitations of nation-state socialism. Twentieth-century socialism emerged as a negative revolutionary intervention, yet failed to present a lasting alternative.
Despite enormous sacrifices, this struggle has become a legacy enriched through both theoretical and practical critique. To honor and to own this legacy properly requires transforming socialism from a mere memory to a living social force beating at the heart of the people.
The socialist tradition in history must be understood as a legacy aimed at building both peace and democratic society, and the path forward lies in fulfilling internationalist responsibilities—in theory and in practice."

Documentary about People's Resistance in Kobanê: Life in War
🔸 Following Assad's fall in December 2024, the Turkish state and its mercenaries intensified its attacks on the autonomous administration of north-eastern Syria.
🔸The situation was uncertain, but the people were prepared for anything. This was particularly evident in Kobanê, where the Tishreen Dam had been attacked, leaving the city without a water and electricity supply for several months.
🔸This documentary reflects on the situation and the people's resistance, led particularly by women, young people, and the people's self-administered structures. With fewer opportunities, but with a collective spirit, the people employed the strategy of a Revolutionary People's War.

❗️HTS Attacks self administrated neighborhoods Sheikh Maqsoud & Ashrafieh
This afternoon HTS started to attack the self administrated neighborhoods Sheikh Maqsoud & Ashrafieh in Aleppo with tanks and artillery. Despite all attempts to infiltrate the neighborhoods were thwarted first reports of wounded and killed civilians arrive. This is another attempt to force the SDF into an agreement on HTS’s terms. Taking into consideration todays visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, the Turkish minister of Defence and the head of the Turkish intelligence agency MIT in Damascus it becomes clear that the Turkish state is orchestrating the recent escalation.
The people of Aleppo as well as all over Rojava are right now on the streets, showing their support and proclaiming the vision of a democratic Syria. The people of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh will defend their neighbourhoods but also we need to show that we stand with the Revolution and break the silence.
