🔖স্বাভাবিকভাবে কারো পাশে বসা আর কারো কাছে বসা দুটোই আমরা বলতে পারি এবং সঠিক। তবে উক্ত বাক্যে যখন বলা হলো দরজার পাশে বসা তখন beside ব্যবহার করছি আমরা। দরজার কাছে বসা ভুল না, তবে কাছে বলতে তো আমরা দরজার সামনেও বুঝাতে পারি, ডানে-বামে সবদিকেই বুঝাতে পারি। কিন্তু যখন পাশে বলছি ,তখন হয় ডানে/বামে যে কোন একটা দিকে বলছি ,সামনে অবশ্যই না। এই বাক্যের ক্ষেত্রে বুঝাতে চাচ্ছি দরজার সামনে বসে ছিল বিষয়টা কেমন একটা দেখাচ্ছে না!!!আর যখন বলবো দরজার পাশে ছিল তখন সেটা ভালো শোনাচ্ছে কেননা পাশে বসলে/রাখলে/ স্থাপন করলে প্রতিবন্ধকতা সৃষ্টি হচ্ছে না যাতায়াতের ক্ষেত্রে, যেটা সামনে বসলে/রাখলে হচ্ছে। যখন(near) নিকটে ব্যবহার করছি।
