🚨House sends annual defense policy bill to Biden’s desk
The House has voted to pass NDAA.
This sends the $886 billion in Pentagon policy and funding package as well as ‘Warrantless Backdoor Surveillance’ of Americans to President Biden’s desk.
The vote was 310-118
45 Democrats and 73 Republicans opposed the measure.
The House passed the legislation under a suspension of the rules, this means it needed a two-thirds majority to pass.

Russia-Ukraine war: Putin says Russian goals in Ukraine are unchanged and there will only be peace when it achieves them
In his first end-of-year press conference, Putin addressed Ukraine:
Putin: “There will be peace when we achieve our goals,” Putin said. “They haven’t changed. Denazification of Ukraine, the demilitarisation of Ukraine.”
Putin also reportedly said that military aid to Ukraine from the west was drying up and that the country would soon run out of foreign arms to resist the Russian invasion.
“Ukraine produces nearly nothing, everything is coming from the west, but the free things will run out someday, and it seems it is already happening,” he said.

Top power grid watchdog warns fossil fuel shutdowns could destabilize future reliability
The North America Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) oversees and monitors the U.S. power grid.
In its’ annual Long-Term Reliability Assessment (LTRA) report, NERC concluded that large swaths of the U.S. face either an elevated or high risk of capacity shortfalls.
NERC noted that premature retirements, or power plant shutdowns that occur before replacement power comes online, are a leading factor in determining future reliability issues.

I love our military. That’s why I voted for the NDAA passed this summer under Speaker McCarthy that included a 30% pay raise for junior members of the military.
But the NDAA negotiated by Speaker Johnson, Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell and Hakeem Jeffries removed that pay raise.
Not only that, it didn’t remove Ukraine funding and doubled it to $600 million, funded abortion vacations, and kept trans in our military.
Worst of all, they shoved the FISA spy court into our defense bill. The NDAA should NEVER reauthorize the weaponization of our justice system that Joe Biden’s DOJ and the FBI are using to spy on American citizens!

Protestors draped 'Let Gaza Live' and 'Ceasefire Now' signs while over the overpass
Groups reportedly involved:
Jewish Voice for Peace, Rabbis for Ceasefire, as well as other faith leaders, and allies.
The protesters are reported to describe themselves as "Jewish community members who support freedom and dignity for all people."
The protest is occurring on the eighth and final night of Hanukkah.
