Sen. Bob Menendez’s co-defendant Jose Uribe pleads guilty in bribery case, says he’ll cooperate

Jose Uribe, a former insurance agent in Menendez’s hometown of Union City who is accused of bribing Menendez, plead guilty to 7 counts during a Manhattan federal court hearing.

These charged include:

✔️Obstruction of justice
✔️Tax evasion

He has agreed to “cooperate fully” with investigators.

Social Security Overpayment Errors Worth $11B Prompt Major Debt Worries For Millions Of Recipients

In a letter on Thursday, Senators Gary Peters and Debbie Stabenow asked the Social Security Administration (SSA) to take aggressive measures against its overpayment errors.

The senators noted that millions of recipients, especially the elderly and the disabled, could face financial hardship as a result of the overpayment issues, which can take years to identify.

Overpaid recipients are typically expected to reimburse the cash.

The senators claimed that the administration has acknowledged paying out at least $6 billion in overpayments every single year, with a record $11 billion in fiscal year 2022 alone.

A bill recriminalizing the possession of small amounts of drugs was passed by the Oregon Legislature on Friday. It. now goes to the governor’s desk.

The bill’s provisions include:

✔️ Possessing small amounts of drugs, such as heroin or methamphetamine, would be a misdemeanor, punishable by up to six months in jail. 

✔️ Enabling police to confiscate the drugs and crack down on their use on sidewalks and in parks.

✔️Offering Drug treatment as an alternative to criminal penalties. 

✔️The goal of making it easier to prosecute people who sell drugs.

✔️Increasing access to addiction medication and obtaining and keep housing without facing discrimination for using that medication.

The bottom line is this: For any other mental illness, we treat it with therapy (root cause), differential diagnosis, medication, etc.. However, with this particular disease, we are doing the opposite. Instead of fixing the mind, we are mutilating the body and cosigning their symptoms as real. All in the name of what? To virtue signal to others that we care? If we really cared, we would treat the illness, not continue to allow these people to suffer.
