Marc Theissen, also a speechwriter for GW Bush: Biden's speech was an "utter disgrace…Attacking his opponent directly in the first minutes of his speech is unprecedented and perhaps the most partisan start to a State of the Union address in modern memory…”

Conversely

Dan Cluchey, speechwriter for the president in the Biden White House: “With energy and vigor, the President laid out the clear choice facing America — a choice between two starkly different visions for our future…President Biden made it crystal clear where he stands — and he did it while commanding the room with equal parts sharp oratory, disarming banter, and matter-of-fact moral authority,"

Maria Cardon, Democratic consultant: "the contrast with Trump was brilliant and scathing. He pulled no punches, told the truth, and he was everything he needed to be." 
Cardona argued that the president "was energetic, direct, funny, eloquent, and he laid out his accomplishments clearly and relevantly, connecting them with peoples’ lives."

But …

Veteran Republican strategist, Colin Reed, said… re: the economy and the border, "both were buried deep within the confines of the speech…On the two most important issues, he whiffed big time….”

Other than the most divisive and angry campaign style SOTU speech from any president in history, there were two significant moments last night that every American is talking about today.

President Biden finally recognized Laken Riley was murdered by an illegal that HE let in our country, but couldn’t even say her name correctly.

And gold star father, Steve Nikoui, the father of a US Marine killed during Biden’s failed 2021 US evacuation from Afghanistan, was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor.

The state of our union is disgraceful.

The eighteen indicted include eight public servants in positions across local, state and federal levels.

The defendants include employees of the city's homeless services, a letter carrier for USPS, a worker for the transportation authority and a police officer.

Gold Star dad Steven Nikoui gets hero’s welcome after heckling Biden at SOTU – as GOP calls on cops to drop charges

“Steve Nikoui!” other Gold Star families who attended the speech cheered as the man himself strutted into the Dubliner Restaurant blocks away from the US Capitol, after being released from the custody of the House Sergeant at Arms,

House Republicans who invited the relatives of the fallen troops immediately called on local authorities to drop charges, with Rep. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) offering to pay any related fines.

The cargo hold was stowing passenger’s pets, according to local TV station KOIN; although none of the animals were injured. The plane had flown in from Los Cabos, Mexico.
