Senate advances reauthorization of controversial 'spy tool' despite Republican hardliner threats to TANK the bill: Turmoil breaks out as GOP demand more fixes for FBI program that stops terror attacks but has snooped on Americans at January 6, BLM riots

The deadline for renewal is tomorrow, April 19th.

In a 67-32 vote, the Senate invoked cloture, allowing debate to begin on the bill.  

✔️The amendment to require warrants before picking up conversations of those on U.S. soil who communicate with suspected terrorists failed.

✔️An amendment from Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) that would require the FBI to provide quarterly reports about how many Americans had been queried under 702 passed and was added to the bill. 

✔️Crenshaw's amendment to allow international drug traffickers to be queried under 702, in addition to terrorists, was added to the bill.

✔️📝The court will come in on Friday to chose the 6 alternates to take their place should one of them have to be excused.

BREAKING: Israel Has Started Bombing Iran, Biden Last-Ditch Appeasement Attempt Has Failed

Biden was attempting to appease the mullahs with a nuclear deal and the guarantee Israel would not retaliate. This has failed.

According to multiple reports, Israel has begun bombing Iran, as well as Syria and Iraq, for a three-pronged attack. 

The retaliatory attacks are ongoing, but unconfirmed reports are that the explosions are occurring around the areas where Iran's nuclear facilities are located. That would make sense as the brazenness of the Mullah's attack would require ensuring they never get nuclear weapons.

House votes to advance foreign aid bills, despite GOP defections

In a vote of 316-94 the bill package is advanced for a Saturday vote on final passage of $95 billion in foreign assistance.

The individual bills provide roughly :
💸$26 billion for Israel
💸$61 billion for Ukraine
💸$8 billion for the Indo-Pacific

🧾A fourth bill packaged into the foreign aid contains conservative priorities such as a TikTok ban bill, sanctions on Iran and legislation to seize Russian assets to help provide funding to Ukraine.

Letitia James Under Pressure to Show Why She Rejected Trump Bond

NY AG  Letitia James has challenged Donald Trump’s $175 million bond payment.

On Monday, James will have to explain why the challenge was not taken "unnecessarily and for vexation” as ruled by a judge. 

Judge Arthur Engoron set the April 22nd hearing after Trump's legal team filed to prove that Knight Specialty Insurance Company was legally permitted to post the bond for Trump.

If Trump wins the case on Monday, James will be required  to pay the costs Trump incurred in reapplying to the court with new bond paperwork.

Meet The Pennsylvania Lawmaker Leading The United States’ ‘Most Important Election Integrity Case’

Pa Rep. Dawn Keefer has become the ‘go-to’ legislator on election law over her four terms in office. With over 20 years of public-and private-sector experience, she brings a passion to election integrity issues.

Keefer “I have personally dug into this issue. I have colleagues come up to me all the time and ask me about election laws…I know how it should be done, and how it is actually being done.” 

“I’m just trying to get [officials] to follow the laws in the first place.” 

Keefer is leading the charge against Joe Biden’s EO turning federal agencies into a get-out-the-vote army for his re-election. ‘Bidenbucks’ is essentially this election’s ‘Zuckerbucks’

Keefer and her 26 legislative colleagues have sued the Biden administration, Pennsylvania leftist Gov. Josh Shapiro, and several state officials in federal court. They seek an injunction on Biden’s fiat that commands all federal “departments and agencies” to “partner” with state, local, tribal, and territorial election officials on voter registration and other GOTV initiatives.

Keefer and the Freedom Caucus argue it’s not the business of the federal government. They assert the constitutional rights of states under the Elections and Elections Clauses to operate elections without federal meddling.

The lawsuit asserts: “[A]ll agency action in conformity with [EO] 14019 is without congressional delegation or funding, and conducted merely by executive fiat.”

Last month, a Federal Judge dismissed the case. Keefer and the caucus are taking their case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Keefer also wants Pennsylvania to join a growing list of states to leave the ERIC System.
