iirc, this one was explained to be because cats dont like to drink on the same place they eat. natural instincts about not drinking water contaminated with decaying corpses and stuff. so, you all should leave some water recipient somewhere not close to the eating corner of the cat, so they will drink more often instead of avoiding it for as long as they can
