If you're not actually trying to kill healthcare and preschool for poor kids to fund your tax cuts, this is not a great look to start with
Anyone who doesn't notice deeply disturbing echoes of history right now is either not paying attention or in denial.
This is the problem. I've been calling budget experts asking what programs this funding-pause language applies to - all discretionary? Medicaid/CHIP?
But that requires deciphering memo as if it were written by serious people who actually thought about and understand the law

If you had any doubt whether this OMB funding freeze was illegal, this should remove it.
