Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has announced that the company will begin testing a new subnoscription bundle called “Meta Verified” on Instagram and Facebook. The subnoscription bundle includes the following: A verified badge that authenticates the user's account with a government ID. Proactive account protection. Introducing Instagram broadcast channels!

It's a new feature that allows creators to build community within a new messaging space. An Instagram Channel acts as a direct line between the creator and the followers, where creators are able to distribute all their latest news directly to the most loyal followers

Starting March 16, 2023, Instagram users will no longer be able to tag products during live broadcasts. Meta says this change will allow the platform to “focus on products and features that provide the most value to our users.”

New Quiet Mode Feature - January 2023

The "Quiet mode" feature allows users to select a specific time of day or week when they don't want to receive notifications. An automated reply will be sent to anyone who messages during that time.

Why do people hate the Instagram update? The new update has been accused of turning Instagram into a clone of TikTok. Almost 150,000 people have signed a petition created by Tati Bruening which calls on Instagram to return to its roots.

Instagram unrolls the latest “Collab” option for users to upload a post or reels collaboratively. The Instagram update opens opportunities for content @creators to send collaboration invites to other users and create mutual posts or reels. This collaborative post will be accessible on the feeds of both users.

Is Meta verified worth it?
Meta Verified will be especially worth it for small @creators or online influencers who could really boost their social media trust through subscribing. For the average user however, it doesn't offer much. But if your goal is to have a cool looking profile i suggest you get it!
