This doodle made me want to write or idk just somehow explore some kind of story pre rdr2 about arthur and javier travelling just the two of them (they can make it if they try/lyr) for a while... Maybe on some kind of mission dutch sent them to... Camping out in the desert and all ^_^

For people who dont know THEYRE NOT BROTHERS ! the gang does represent family for all of the characters but arthur and javier are obviously not brothers. HowEVER i do see arthur and john for example having a very brotherly relationship which is why this is that line that i cannot cross i just cant imagine shipping them knowing that arthur saw john grow up (kind of like i see obi and anakins dynamic, its like i guess i can see why people ship them and theres technically nothing stopping them if theyre both adults and are not blood related whatsoever but its just 😐 very weird to me in the full context you know. ).. but with arthur and javier to me personally its pretty different bcuz javier has been with tthe gang for only 4 years and was already an adult when dutch found him and took him in so it kind of changes the dynamics between javier and other gang members to me at least idk ^_^

What im tryring to say is that they are not brothers in a "theyre related" way but they are brothers in a way thay the van der linde gang is a found family where people like arthur and javier found love care and shelter they didnt recieve anywhere else and theyre all connected by their shared loyalty to the cause (and dutch. bcuz hes the one that provided them with love care and shelter. not to spoil anything but that might play a major role in the games plot and characters' motivations...)

This is something i really like about arthur and javiers dynamic: they are so so simmilar in their devotion to dutch but unlike arthur javier never gets his "reality checks" that might change his perspective like they did to arthur, whos priorities change from being all about loyalty to the gang to being about saving those he loves (in this case john and his family). The best example (and one of my fave parralels) of that imo is the fact that both arthur and javier get caught by the enemies (o'driscolls in arthurs case, the ppl on guarma in javiers) but arthur never gets saved. he has to fight his way out jusy to hear pointless apologies from dutch. but javier not only gets saved BUT HE GETS SAVED DIRECTLY BY DUUUTTCCHH !! WHY WOULD DUTCH LOSE JAVIERS TRUST IF HE WAS THERE FOR HIM WHEN JAVIER WAS AT HIS LOWEST..... ITS JUST LIKE HOW IN 1895 DUTCH WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS GOD FORSAKEN COUNTRY THAT GAVE JAVIER FOOD AND SHELTER THE ONLY PERSON THAT ACTUALLY CARED ABOUT HIM . Ok sorry starting to go on a rant abouit a whole another thing but like that does influence the way i see arthur and javiers relationship aswell! They are so simmilar in their devotion to the gang at the start just to end up on opposing sides.. AND YET javier never points his gun at arthur and john. Never ever. He cared about them till the end ADN I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL

Arthur and Javier smooched once or twice but Arthur and Charles are endgame forver and ever❗❗They were so in love but never got to love each other like real people do and i find that so so evil and tragic

I was told to keep going okay so when i was playing rdr2 for the first time i honestly thought that javier might br following the same path of doubt as arthur (the talk he can have with dutch in camp in ch3).... And when he said that one little line in thst one little cutscene at the end of ch5 when they go back home from guarma which was smth like "but why are we doing this what is happening" i thought OMGG THIS IS IT. JAVIER AND ARTHUR TEAM UP . But yeah. I might have forgotten that ch5 is the same chapter where javier personally gets saved by dutch. Will never stop thinking about this plot point honestly. It hits that much closer in the context of ch6 and the fsct that when John also needed savibg dutch didnt care about him and got mad at arthur and sadie for disobeying his orders and doing it themselves. And the way javier treats everyone in ch6 :( its like . Hes blinded by his loyalty. Blinded by a fake image of a leader he has in his mind because he didnt know dutch as close as arthur and john did. He is loyal and stubborn which is why refuses to listen to those he does not agree with even if he truly cares abouut them . His lifes priority always was "the cause" this is how he ended up in this country! But id like to think he did see the flaws of dutchs way in ch6. Id like to think he knew it deep inside but refused to face these thoughts for his own safety and well being for what is javier without the van der linde gang?
How does the fact that i ship arthur and javier fit into all that? I honestly dont know i just think they're neat. I kind of see them as a friends with benefits situationship where they kiss once a month when noone sees and never mention it to each other as if it never happend </3 do with that what you will. I feel like arthur doesnt like javier by yhe end of the story (like cmon . Ch6 javier. Fucked up. Makes me drop on my knees and cry ) soo i guess they broke up without never being a real thing. ALTHOUGH in my head they had a nice bonding moment on that ship on their way back from guarma...(i drew it if someone remembers that) In my head they bonded over shared trauma of. Everything that happend in the last few days starting with the failed robbery. They can have one moment of peace where they wont fight over their ideals because they are tired and sad and just want to rest together quietly like they used to. As a treat.

I just think its kind of crazy how complex javier is !! Not the guy i expected it from when starting the game honestly. Just liked him because he had a cool poncho in ch1
