The points trend was mostly a huge waste of time for those that farmed everything that popped up, but there are a few sleepers that people are underestimating. If there's one you absolutely shouldn't fade, it's this one.

HyperLiquid

Analysis

Hyperliquid is an order-book based perp dex which uses its own purpose-built L1 to offer perps for a suite of over 100+ assets. The HyperLiquid L1 can handle 20k TPS / OPS and all actions on the platform are handled with an impressive block latency of <1 second.

The team, led by chameleon_jeff, is self-funded and has taken no external capital. There are no paid market makers and the dev team collects no fees.

Hyperliquid has a points system which launched November 1st 2023 and will last 6 months, meaning there is still plenty of time to earn points. 1 million points are distributed per week.

The exact criteria for earning points are not publicized and change weekly but it is clear that trading volume is the most important. LPing to HLP also earns points but imo it is no longer worth it if all you care about it points. However, I have maintained my deposits simply because the HLP APR has been highly profitable. Some other potential factors for points include: profitability, open interest, fees paid, liquidations.

My recommendation is that you do these two things.

1. Only use HyperLiquid when it's a feasible option, it's a good platform so as long as it supports pairs you want to trade, there's no downside here and you're earning points on top of your usual activity.

2. In addition to 1, generate as much volume as possible without actually exposing yourself to risk. Now that markets are closer to easy mode, this isn't difficult to do if you have a substantial amount of capital. Take large directional bets on majors on low leverage, etcetera. Farm points aggressively.

There is an absurd amount of potential for more to be built on top of what HyperLiquid has already shipped, and frankly the reason I'm this bullish has less to do with the above and more to do with the fact that the people in my circles that are always early to big opportunities and have insider knowledge have been asking me to sell them my Hyperliquid points and they haven't been very good at masking how eager they are to get their hands on them. There's already a substantial secondary market for these points and I expect this airdrop to end up printing, similar to Bouncebit.

Don't spread yourself thin farming every single thing that pops up. Stick to things worth your time that aren't absurdly -ev to farm. For me, that's BounceBit / HyperLiquid / Blast / Cosmos ecosystem stuff.

Ok I'm probably going to go back to locking in on Pandora and not posting much trading alpha here unless it's something major since I'm too busy to trade much, but I'll leave you guys with some food for thought:

Less is more. You probably would have outperformed the 1000 trades per day most of you guys are probably doing if you just allocated a retarded bag into that $ONDO call instead of chasing every flavor of the day for the past 2 months.

I'd use that as a litmus test. If you've been grinding for 24 hours a day and deploying capital into 50 different shitcoins and you would have made more just yeeting your portfolio into $ONDO at 0.27, it's probably a sign that you will not outperform majors.

It sounds like some sort of mark of shame but this happens literally every cycle. People feel like they're killing it and making insane returns and then they do the math at the end of the bull run and realize they would have made out better if they literally just parked it all in BTC/ETH/SOL and hibernated with 1/100th of the effort.

Sitting on BTC is still a trade. Making 2 patient high conviction high R/R trades with impeccable execution and 100xing your portfolio is still a 100x. There is literally no upside whatsoever in valuing quantity / trade volume unless you are so on point that you are hitting tons of outperformers and timing rotations like the literal best traders. It just robs you of sleep and clarity of mind and makes your accounting a pain in the ass.

Cut through the noise and hold onto your winners.
