Minter's most influential coin in at least the last half year it seems. It's quite contradictive to what we're used to, so it became one of the main topics for discussion. At launch i was skeptical, but after trying it out for myself my opinion started changing. Here are the things that make this coin different:

I've sat down to finish this post a thousand times by now. Started writing, again and again, scrapping it, fixing mistakes, and every time i returned to the thought that i don't have a proper grasp of the theme yet, and the perfectionism in my system kept declining the post. Today i finally accepted that this might take a lot more time, and my channel's been stone dead for a while, so let's go the more realistic route and start working in imperfect conditions.

So what am i rambling about? Oh yeah, TON. I think you're all aware of the mindboggling chain of events - a sudden burst of $1,7B from investors (there were offers for another $2B that were declined), the grueling wait for the launch with constant delays, then complaints from SEC, the decision to ban it and the announcement from Durov that the Telegram team is no longer working on the project. Everything is lost, right? The most advanced and anticipated crypto of the generation is just going to vanish without seeing the light of day?

Now, half a year later, i'm coming to the conclusion that the project only benefited from this. Durovs made the only right decision - it was officially announced that the Telegram team is no longer working on TON, and is no longer associated with it. But the thousands of hours of work from high-ranking specialists didn't go to waste - the pretty much ready code for the project was uploaded online, so that the decentralization within could prosper in the hands of indie developers. And they didn't make us wait.

7th of May this year, the Free TON Community lead by TON Labs - the independent developer of the infrastructure of Durovs' project, launched the blockchain platform under the name Free TON with the native token TON Crystal. To put it simply, the most ambitious project of the crypto industry was saved by the community. And, let me be a broken record, i think the project only became stronger in the end. The lack of investors gave the project and the developers of Free TON complete freedom, a big save on resources and all the shady paperwork related to them, which allows the devs to focus on the project without getting distracted by complaints and lawsuits. Another plus is thanks to the lack of presale and huge coinholders its price is less prone to being manipulated. I really like the crystal distribution scheme, where the developers and validators only get 15% an the remaining 85%, instead of being sold, will be spread amongst regular users and partners who helped the project grow. As a result the network will get a lot of small coinholders, each and every one making the network more decentralized. Any of you can join the process and start winning tokens right now by participating in contests. I'll add that the community is still rather small, it's easier to win, and many people i know have already made dozens of thousands of crystals (each currently being worth ~$1,5).

it's a bit sad that my job didn't let me get into this earlier, so i'm trying to make up for it by sharing my thoughts about this very complicated technological project. I'll finish with my verdict which i'll try to explain in my next posts:
