imo this year the term “sharp trader” has largely lost its meaning in my dictionary

because too many good traders are getting it wrong too often as well

if even they are getting it wrong, what makes you think you can predict better? personally don’t think i’m a sharp trader or anything

we’re in a new market dynamic that no living being has truly experienced before (debate of 4-year cycle + macro conditions + ai boom)

mankind is entering new territories, not something that can be explained using history books

markets are becoming more sophisticated and not everything can be explained when you don’t have all the information

if you’re still basing decisions off “sharp traders”or ct KOLs, you’re quite doomed to fail

that is why i keep advocating being nimble because we’re in the business of risk management

xxx can’t explain this, xxx got that wrong, xxx thinks this, xxx thinks that

nobody knows anything

We all have targets that we want to reach for our portfolios - for me checking the total value of my holdings is often time very stressful

What I do in these periods is just not check at all

I’m obviously aware ballpark figure of where I am - and I want to be aware for position sizing purposes

But I have no idea what the exact number is

And besides not adding stress or being anchored to fixed targets, this also helps me treat each trade individually- I won’t sell or take action based on how much this puts my portfolio at, but depending on how I see the individual trade playing out

This trick also helps you not count your unrealized profits as money you *have* - it’s only money you have after you realized your profits

This is one of the biggest mistakes ppl make

This will also help you be happy whenever you sell and chill for this cycle, as you won’t anchor yourself to a number you saw on the screen

Unless you scalp and always take profits in usd, you will likely never realize the biggest number u see on the screen

A new BTC ATH would lift all ceilings - bull or not, this is what you want to see for continuation of easy mode.
