- the simplest moat in web3 is liquidity, but the real moat is the community -> many popular dApps have been forked but to no success because you cannot replicate the community which provides the liquidity

- narratives > fees generated/financial ratios etc.

-the more crowded a market segment gets, the lower the probability of a new entrant being able to command higher take rates or sticky users
