but when it comes to short term trading (rotations), i'm more concerned about money velocity
in this case, sol wins and will continue being the biggest casino
if we're talking about the future, when base seamlessly onboards retail to onchain etc. then yes it'll start heating up more
but until then, patience patience patience
base memes are spot plays with longer time frames as compared to sol, so no hurry to chase pumps and just take your time and enter at a level you like

My response to him: look you are never going to time this precisely but my advice is the sooner the better. Also this may seem like a big decision to you today, but if you look back 12-18 months from now, this decision will be inconsequential because the returns from the fund will dwarf the impact of this decision which seems so important today.
