Leo Tolstoy’s book "How Much Land Does a Man Need?" is interesting and tries to answer the never ending question of what is enough. Something that I ponder a lot myself tbh.
In the novel, Pahom, a peasant, thinks he’ll be happy only if he has slightly more land than he has now. As he chases bigger plots, his desire grows until it destroys him.
He dies trying to claim more than he can use, and ends up needing nothing but the six feet land for his grave.
Tolstoy shows that no amount of material gain can satisfy limitless desire. No matter what your net worth is, you are rich if you have enough.
