Getting the wood stove going gets the temp back up to more comfortable levels relatively quick.

@redbirdsglory: Artillery ammo is only one factor among many here but I think it's one of the most important one's.
Even if the Ukrainians can fix most of the internal issues, not enough ammo available still means poor chance of successful offensives.

There are of course a whole host of other factors influencing the prospects of future Ukrainian strategic level offensives but artillery ammo availability is very high on the list, in order of importance.
