His crew of eight men from Ukraine’s 44th Artillery Brigade had arrived in the Sumy border region days earlier after being pulled from the front line in the south.
At around 3 a.m. on Aug. 6, they unleashed an intense barrage from six M777 howitzers, supplied by Ukraine’s Western backers, which were set up along a stretch of the border aiming into Russia...
Western military estimates suggest Ukraine has committed as many as 6,000 soldiers to Kursk and has up to 4,000 additional troops in support roles in the Sumy region...
Russia has pulled several understrength brigades from Ukraine in response, totaling up to 5,000 troops as of the middle of this past week, the person said. One brigade was from the Donetsk region, the focus of Russia’s current offensives, but others were from less essential areas."

Хоча, якщо чесно, мені здається, що перестали застосовувати бронетехніку з інших мотивів. Не менш раціональних. Адже для просування вистачає закидання лінії зіткнення живою силою. Можливо, якщо впруться, то піде і техніка щоб зрушити, а поки що є що є. До речі, на просування в Новоолександрівці та у бік Воздвиженки, росіяни втратили чимало броні.

@secretsqrl123: That would mean Russia would give away slightly more area in land gains than they took in the past year in Ukraine, within one day.
In this area are over 40 settlements and around 20,000 people live there as of a month ago. But it would depend on multiple factors. One being the number of troops Ukraine has ready to attack that area. It could either go slowly or go quickly. Either Russia retreats out of there now when they have one bridge remaining, or they try to fight for the land with no bridges and small pontoon bridges which will be hard to get to in order to try to cause some losses for Ukraine and prolong the time for them to take settlements. This area of land is 670km2 and has large settlements like Tetkino with 3,800 residents and Glushkovo with 5,000 residents. Combined those two settlements are equivalent to the population of Sudzha, and taking the area would increase the number of settlements Ukraine controls from 85 to +125. If defended well, Russia may never get them back.
