Russian forces were able to penetrate the flank of Ukrainian defenses in the Huliaipole sector on the Zaporizhzhia front due to the "uncoordinated" withdrawal of one of the Ukrainian units.
The spokesman for Ukraine's Southern Defense Forces Vladyslav Voloshyn told that Interfax-Ukraine agency on Thursday.
Several Ukrainian servicemen are reported missing following fighting in that area, he said.
