Do you use the terminal config?
As for the results of this pool, i've came to a conclusion

After thinking for some time, i've realized that prebuilt overlays aren't going to be an absolute solution as i've had multiple cases of them failing before for users even when built to be as compliant as possible to the latest Android releases

What makes an overlay work or not is seemingly random regardless of tool used to build them (haven't stopped looking into potential causes)

So, i've decided to focus on fabricated overlays where possible

Apologies if this seems like i'm disregarding your votes, however returning to prebuilts most likely won't really fix much of anything (in comparison to using fabricated overlays which i'm working on when i have the time) and will just make the module less versatile

I shall be polishing things up for the next release hopefully tomorrow, should hopefully bring the hide pill option to the fabricated overlays implementation, and while likely not feasible i'll study the probability of getting the hide keyboard buttons feature to work with it as well

I hope you all understand and have a good day/night 😊

Fabricated Overlays test 7

- Embedded overlay noscript into startup noscript to remove the need for an uninstall command (cleaner code)

If it all works out the Fabricated Overlays module can now be regularly uninstalled without the need for an uninstall command

It's recommended to remove the ol2 file from previous FO versions in data/adb/service.d to make sure Test 7 is working

Bringing back the option to hide the keyboard buttons will be attempted for the next release (a bit of additional work will be needed for Android 13)

Mind you, i cannot guarantee it'll work for all devices/ROMs

A test build will be published tomorrow when i have the time

I've been thinking, for awhile I've noticed Substratum Lite has been capable of generating reliable overlay APKs regardless of Android version

If I were to rebuild my module as a Substratum theme, it'd greatly simplify my work while making it easier to potentially provide further customizations down the line

It'd also allow you to easily toggle the changes on/off without the need of a reboot

It would involve sacrificing the terminal setup tool however I could accommodate for that by providing additional navbar size options in the theme

I would like to know your general opinion on the topic

First test build of the Substratum version of the module

Btw, the substratum theme brings back the hide keyboard buttons option

Disabling the back gesture is currently missing tho i'll add it ASAP if i figure out how to do it with substratum😅

Disclaimer:
This has only been tested with the Substratum Lite app, i cannot guarantee it'll work on regular Substratum

Second test build of the Substratum conversion

Changelog:
- Added MIUI support (untested)

Alright, if no issues are reported this should be it for today, i'll look into the whole back gesture thing tomorrow

And apologies for the constant back and forth i do with my stuff, getting this whole overlay thing to work reliably has been a nightmare for me for almost 3 years now 😅

So thanks a lot for dealing with my shenanigans, just trying to do what i can here

As for the back gesture situation i could try and ask a friend (since i personally don't know programming) for help to make a menu for my theme with that option

I'm still looking into that

I'll leave this message to let you all know that I'm going to leave Telegram for quite a while so I can better focus on my own personal life, I'm staying here longer than I should, and I'm practically procrastinating years of my own life away (and it hasn't helped with my mental health)

Many thanks to everyone, until later

[EDIT]

I'll leave the links for both Magisk and Substratum versions in this pinned message for new users to be able to more easily find them

FSIM-Version-1.apk
2.2 MB
First stable/Full release of the Substratum version of the Fullscreen/Immersive gestures module

Changelog:
- Fixed the small+gcam lag fix option not actually reducing the keyboard height

- Some changes to the small/immersive option:

A new small option was added for those who still wish to use the keyboard buttons or consider the regular small option to be too small

The old small option has now been renamed to smallest

- Added the option to individually hide either the keyboard switcher button and back button from the navbar (when the keyboard is opened)

This will likely be the last release til next year

I'll leave a link to my Paypal for all of those who wish to donate, anything is more than welcome
