Yesterday, President Trump said he was working very closely with the US Military during the Construction of the Ballroom

Today, I just learned that the reason the East Wing was built was to cover up an UNDERGROUND BUNKER.

Known as the Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC), it was constructed in 1942 during World War II under President Franklin D. Roosevelt to provide a secure shelter and communications hub for the president and key staff in case of aerial attacks on Washington, D.C. The East Wing was expanded at the same time to conceal the bunker's construction from the public.

Now it makes sense.
