January 15, 2026, will be a big day. MicroStrategy will be removed from all major indices on January 15, 2026.
The forced sell-off of $9 billion is coming. The largest financial disaster in modern history will occur in 55 days, and almost no one anticipates its arrival.
The reason for this is: Michael Saylor spent five years building a machine. Using shareholders' money to buy bitcoin. The stock price rises. Raising more funds. Buying more bitcoin. This cycle continues.
Everything is progressing smoothly at the moment. MicroStrategy has accumulated 649,870 bitcoins, now worth $57 billion. They have become the world's largest corporate holder of bitcoin.
However, the machine is broken.
The rules of MSCI are simple: when cryptocurrency accounts for more than 50% of your assets, you are no longer a company, but a fund. MicroStrategy's cryptocurrency share has reached 77%, exceeding this standard months ago.
On January 15, 2026...... all pension funds and index tracking funds holding MicroStrategy stock must sell.
This is not because they want to, but because the rules force them to do so. The algorithm will not negotiate with you.
The premium has long disappeared. The trading price of MicroStrategy was 2.5 times its Bitcoin value. It was this premium that allowed Saylor to raise an additional $20 billion. Now, its trading price is only 1.11 times. The market has long digested this loss.
This actually means:
In the past five years, the experiment of companies disguising the purchase of Bitcoin as a corporate strategy has ended. Wall Street has drawn the line. Bitcoin is now an independent asset class. Want to invest in Bitcoin? Just buy the ETF.
Every dollar that would have flowed into MicroStrategy is now directed towards BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF. The rules of the game have not only changed but have been completely flipped.
Tesla holds Bitcoin. Block also holds Bitcoin. They are safe because their holdings are always low.
at 50%. They are still companies that hold Bitcoin.
MicroStrategy has turned into a Bitcoin fund, coincidentally also owning a software company. That's why they were expelled.
This is a change. Corporate finance departments can hold Bitcoin as one of many assets. But should they build an entire strategy around it? Wall Street has already pointed the way for you.
There are 55 days left until the financial industry's rewrite of the most tedious rulebook.
The biggest significance of this matter is not some 'financial disaster', but it marks the end of the experimental period for Bitcoin as a corporate asset allocation tool. In the future, if companies want to allocate Bitcoin? They can, but don't exceed 50%, otherwise you are no longer a company.
It's actually quite reasonable, after all, investors buy MSTR stock to invest in a software company, not to buy a disguised Bitcoin fund. Now that there is an ETF, why still take this detour?
Saylor has made a fortune in recent years, but now the rules have changed, and the game must continue.
Finally, let's talk about the business model of GAIB, which is somewhat like packaging AI computing power as 'mining machines' into the RWA concept.
To put it in everyday terms, it's like treating each GPU data center as 'rental properties' and then issuing real estate investment trusts for everyone to buy shares, except here the 'rent' comes from AI computing demand.
From a data perspective, AI infrastructure is indeed a trillion-dollar track, with NVIDIA H100 cards costing tens of thousands of dollars each and a data center requiring hundreds of millions in investment. But the problem is that traditional VCs have already poured a lot of money into this field, so where exactly is the advantage of a tokenized approach like GAIB?
I think the key is to look at two indicators: whether the yield of AID can outperform traditional US Treasury ETFs, and the utilization rate of underlying GPU assets and real cash flow.
