The U.S. military has seized an oil tanker off of Venezuela’s coast, President Donald Trump told reporters Wednesday as his administration continues to escalate military activity in the region.
“As you probably know, we’ve just seized a tanker on the coast of Venezuela,” Trump said. “Large tanker, very large, largest one ever seized actually.”
Trump did not provide details on the seizure but said that it was an “interesting day.” He also hinted that more news would be released, including photos, but did not offer a specific timeline.
“You’ll discuss that with the appropriate people later on,” Trump said. “But no, it was seized for a very good reason.”
Asked what would happen to the oil on the ship, Trump was unsure.
"We keep it, I guess," Trump said. "I don’t know."

In a highly unusual late-night flex, a U.S. Air Force B-52H Stratofortress was spotted circling just off Venezuela’s coast over the Southern Caribbean.
The nuclear-capable bomber, deployed from the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot AFB, isn’t exactly subtle, it’s a Cold War-era flying fortress built to send messages, not vibes.
This comes less than 48 hours after U.S. forces seized a sanctioned oil tanker near Venezuelan waters, so yeah, this wasn’t random.
There’s been no official Pentagon statement, but when a B-52 is burning fuel near your coastline at night, Washington is definitely trying to make a point.
Hard to call it “routine” when the region’s heating up and the sky is just filled with strategic bombers.

🚨 TRUMP WARNS: “WE ARE CLOSER THAN EVER — THIS SHOULD NEVER HAVE STARTED.”
President Trump just issued one of his starkest assessments yet on the global conflict raging across Europe — and he did not hold back.
“There are a lot of things happening right now. A lot of people say it’s closer than it’s ever been.”
Then the hammer:
“It’s a war that would have NEVER started if I were president.”
Trump says the situation has now deteriorated so far that the loss of life is measured in thousands per week — a scale he called “ridiculous” and “a tragedy that never should have happened.”
And he made one thing absolutely clear:
He will not walk into any meeting in Europe without answers.
No more wasted time.
No more empty talks.
“We want to know certain things before we go. We’ll decide based on what they come back with.”
Trump also hinted at deep disagreements behind the scenes — “little disputes about people” — suggesting that key actors may be blocking progress or pushing agendas that prolong the war.
His most chilling line came last:
“Sometimes you have to let people fight it out — but the problem is, you’re losing thousands of people a week.”
The message is unmistakable:
This war should never have happened.
It must end.
And Trump is positioning himself as the only figure willing to force a reckoning.
