One of the earliest paintings of Jesus Christ 550 AD, this Byzantine pantocrator in Egypt at Saint Catheryn's Monastery (which early AD, considered Mount Sinai and where the Codex Sinaiticus was found). We most likely have this image today, because it was located in Egypt, while in the middle east images were ordered destroyed. There is an earlier engraving with no beard, on the wall of a ruin, also in Egypt.
