Now let’s get into some real talk. DevFest was really cool. I talked with a lot of devs got their contacts, and more importantly, I learned so much.

As I mentioned before here, I’ve been dealing with burnout. I promised I’d share my experience once I figured things out and came back from that feeling. The truth is, I was stuck in a dilemma
growing myself into skilled developer, working one projects and participate in OSS projects, vs getting a job and stable income.

I tried to do both at the same time, but it honestly exhausted me. I didn’t know which one to choose, and that confusion slowly pushed me into depression. So I decided to focus on learning, learning smart and fast, and stop thinking too much about income for now. Still, I was worried and doubting myself a lot because you know get a job when you're student honestly is a sexy thing.

Today at DevFest, @kinfishfarms gave me advice for this exact problem, and it really hit me. I can’t explain how I felt after that conversation. I asked him, “Which one should I choose career growth or getting a job in campus life?”

He said, “You have to take a risk. Don’t worry about a 9–5 job right now. focus on truly understanding the field, build a real reputation in the community, and participate in open source. opportunities will come...”, we talked long

That advice meant a lot to me, since I was very doubtful at in my decision.

He was incredibly helpful🙏, and I’m really glad I went to DevFest.

Article of the day

Title: Progress on TypeScript 7

We’ve also rearchitected parts of our language service to improve reliability while also leveraging shared-memory parallelism. While some teams reported the original experience was a bit “crashy” at times, they often put up with it because of the speed improvements. The new architecture is more robust, and should be able to handle codebases, both big and small, without issues....

I’ve noticed that most Tg bots are hosted on Railway or Render. They work, but in my experience the better option is Vercel.

With Vercel, your bot is much less likely to pause or crash, because you’re not running it as a long-living server. Instead, you configure it as an Edge Function (webhook-based), which scales automatically and stays reliable.

It requires a bit of setup, but once configured properly, it’s more stable than using a dedicated server like Render.

I was reading about these vulnerabilities,

the main thing behind the CVE-2025-55183(one of the two vulnerabilities with 5.5 CVVE core) is that, an attacker can send specially crafted request to the server specially server function identifiers and arguments that are not properly validated.

they basically make the server return the source-code of server-side functions instead of executing them. This will leak the backend logic and secret keys if hardcoded.

Announcement about Food Entry Restriction Enforcement

This afternoon, security bodies informed us that all campuses of Addis Ababa University, including CoBE, are prohibited from bringing food from outside into the campus premises.
According to their explanation, this measure is being enforced under the AAU Student Discipline Law.

The Student Council requested to review the rule again and raised the need for further discussion with the concerned bodies. We will continue to follow up on this matter and provide updates as soon as new information becomes available.
