My latest article: The fall of Ugledar is important for the course of the Special Military Operation

Things are looking increasingly dire for Ukrainian actor President Zelensky and his government. A growing number of villages and towns in Donetsk province are currently under siege by the Russian army and their conquest is only a matter of hours, days or weeks away. The first important town called Ugledar (called Vuhledar in the West) has fallen.
Ugledar, a coal mining town that has been the subject of fighting since the civil war in 2014 and the start of the Special Military Operation (SMO) in 2022. The Russian army suffered a defeat in early 2023, but has now definitively fallen. It is striking that the Ukrainian army – according to sources on Zelensky’s orders – refused to withdraw there and has now suffered heavy losses with many prisoners of war. As the Russian Ministry of Defense reports that many prisoners were taken at Ugledar. The town of Ugledar is situated on a riverbank and on a hill, so Russian attacks from the south were clearly visible from the Ukrainian location, but they still lost the city, why? Due to lack of manpower and weapons. The US and NATO/EU let the Ukrainians die in Ugledar! Very sad message, I was here many times, my good old friend the taxi diver in Beirut lived here with his wife, daughter and granddaughters. I hope they managed to escape. My friend the taxi-driver did, but I don't know about his family. Israeli strikes on Bourj el-Barajneh in the southern suburbs of Beirut today. Bourj el-Barajneh is a municipality located in the southern suburbs of Beirut, in Lebanon. The municipality lies between Beirut–Rafik Hariri International Airport and the town of Haret Hreik. It's a large Palestinian refugee camp, many Syrian refugees live there or rather lived if they are not killed, by the most worse regime since WWII, the world has ever seen. The apartheid in South Africa was harmless in compared to this brutal carnage

During the night and last day the Israeli-regime committed two more horrific massacres Al-Aqsa Martyrs Mosque, adjacent to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, and Ibn Rushd School, both of which were sheltering hundreds of displaced people. The attacks have claimed the lives of 24 martyrs and left 93 injured so far.
These brutal massacres follow a series of attacks by the Israeli-regime, which has bombed 27 homes, schools, and displacement centres across various governorates in the Gaza Strip over the past 48 hours. This ongoing bombardment has resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens.
Humanitarian and medical efforts are also facing enormous challenges due to the ongoing genocide. During a demonstration in London yesterday, Jews protesting against these war crimes and crimes against humanity

It seems that the genocide in Gaza and now also in Lebanon, previously in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya and of course the proxy war in Ukraine is a last gasp of the Western regimes. I have no other explanation. How can leaders and politicians allow genocide to be committed? How can they support jihadists and neo-Nazis and elevate them to martyrs? We all know that the regime in Israel is an ultra-right regime based on their faith Judaism, just as extreme as the Jihadists and the Koran and that the US-Zionist-Settlers are just like the Jihadists a deranged dangerous group. Is Netanyahu's hunger for power so great? Western leaders have also become dangerously radicalized, in Germany you are not allowed to say anything about Russia and Israel and that is how it is in all Western countries. The US is even worse Kamela Harris and Donald Trump both support a war against Iran and are both deeply deranged and intimidated by the deep state. Trump calls for bombing nuclear sites in Iran. Endgame to World War Three? It seems so, but the radicalized Christians, who fully support Israel and the Republicans, think this is great, what a world, or rather humanity in the Western world has completely lost its way.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAmk4efA2t0 When political leaders speak of genocide, they repeat a timeworn mantra: "Never again."
Over the past year, for the Palestinians of Gaza, "again" has become reality - mass casualties broadcast almost in real time by its victims.
This film is about an alternative version of that reality - the one told by major Western news organisations - and how it has provided cover for Israel's war on Gaza. But hey didn't we know that already? Same problem for Russia ad before Syria.

My latest article: First Hand Evidence from Beirut
Hussein, a taxidriver from Bourj el-Barajneh, a municipality located in the southern suburbs of Beirut close to Rafik Harriri airport, in front of his apartment building, Photo’s: Hussein, editing: Mirjam©Photo
Bourj el-Barajneh is a neighborhood not far from Dahiye, the neighborhood where Hezbollah has its headquarters (still not everything has been bombed). It is mainly inhabited by Shia who are not all with Hezbollah, like the taxi driver Hussein, who has been a loyal friend for years (and his family) and has accompanied me through my travels in Beirut, the south of Lebanon and has often brought me safely to the border with Syria.
The Masnaa border crossing, which was bombed by the Israeli regime, is another criminal act against humanity, because there were hundreds of refugees, civilians, who were trying to flee to Syria, years ago in 2015, when I was at the same border crossing, the opposite happened, refugees fleeing from Daesh fled from Syria to Lebanon. Daesh (ISIS) is a terrorist organization created and sponsored by the US and its Western client states. They tried to establish a caliphate, with the help of the US, because they were supplied with weapons in 2014, when they advanced to conquer Syria and Iraq. They were released from Camp Bucca, an American prison in the middle of the Iraqi desert. Then they stole the gold from the Iraqi bank and the oil from Syria and Iraq, which they sold to Europe, and smuggled it through the border crossing via Turkey, it ended up in Europe at the petrol stations.

As the anniversary of the Oct 7th Hamas attacks approaches, tensions in the Middle East are reaching a boiling point. Israel has ramped up its military operations against Iran-backed forces, launching devastating airstrikes across Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen. The assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Israel’s ground offensive into Lebanon has further escalated the conflict, as has Iran sending a wave of missiles towards Israel.
On GZERO World, Ian sits down with Iran's new Vice President for Strategic Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif just days before the Nasrallah assassination and Iran’s response. In their conversation, Zarif delves into the far-reaching ramifications of the ongoing conflict. He says, “So the myth of Israeli invincibility is gone. And I think that's a major loss for Israel.” Zarif also speaks about what he calls Iran’s unwavering stance on its right to self-defense, and its determination to not fall into Israel’s “trap.”
And with an upcoming election, Zarif weighs in on the prospects of a Harris or Trump administration and addresses accusations of Iranian meddling. Zarif notes, “I don't have any preference. But some may prefer him in Iran. Some may believe that he is more in the national interest of Iran.”
Although Iran’s new president has promised to find common ground with the West, recent events have made it clear that the geopolitical tightrope remains perilously thin. As tensions continue to flare, the world waits and asks: What is Iran's next move? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=traNn_Wag8M
