On December 6th, 2024, CeSEM – Centro Studi Eurasia Mediterraneo, in collaboration with SpecialEurasia, hosted the pivotal event noscriptd “Escalation Risks in the Ukraine Conflict: European People Want Peace!” The event brought together an impressive panel of military professionals, political analysts, diplomats, and experts in various fields to address the ongoing escalation of the Ukraine conflict and explore potential solutions. The organisers structured the event around three core themes: defence, politics, and diplomacy. Each section provided a platform for discussing the multifaceted nature of the crisis and its profound implications for Europe and the global order.

I have been thinking a lot these last days about the fact that it will never be the same, the Middle East, it is gone and unfortunately Russia has also lost its influence. Could it have been saved? Not only Syria, but also Palestine and Lebanon, because both countries will no longer exist in the near future. I think so, but I blame the Arab countries first, except Iraq, which are so rich, that it is amoral. They let their Arab brothers and sisters die, in many places. The West is to blame, they let it happen that many Christians and semi-secular sects like the Alawites, Druze or others, were persecuted (and again it has started), colonized and robbed the people of the Levant, their leaders killed under the pretext of being dictators. The biggest culprit is the US, a country without much culture and knowledge of the other countries. Capitalism is also to blame to some extent, it makes people greedy. Many argue that Russia could have done more, but don't forget that Russia is fighting its own war, for almost three years they have been at war with the entire Western world, in the Donbass a hot war, but also a hybrid war and sanctions. The West is so hypocritical to turn terrorists into rebels, but we know that. Russia must now realize that now that they see the betrayal of Turkey and Israel and the entire West, they must do everything to protect their country and its leader Vladimir Putin. They are also after him, just as they are and were after all the murdered leaders. Assad was wise to flee, he saw it coming...

According to Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alpraslan Bayraktar, a long-dormant pipeline project between Turkiye and Qatar could be revived following the collapse of the Assad government, as reported by Anadolu Agency.

Bayraktar said the pipeline could be possible if Syria "achieves its (territorial) integrity and stability."

"If so, that line must be safe" he said adding that "there are many projects to produce."

Turkiye and Qatar have long sought to restore the natural gas pipeline project, which would connect European countries and Turkiye to Qatar through Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria.

The former government in Syria opposed attempts by Qatar and others to restore this pipeline. Many believe this was among the reasons why Arab and western governments decided to support and facilitate efforts to overthrow the government and divide the country.

The scandalous report by UNESCO Director-General Azoulay on the safety of journalists, in which she managed not to include any mention of the dead Russian journalists, has NOT been APPROVED.
We thank all those involved and concerned who sent letters in support of colleagues and expressed protest. Your efforts were not in vain, the fake report was not approved, but only taken into account. The Western minority has completely exposed itself by not expressing words of sympathy in connection with the death of journalists. Now, every time any of these countries will talk about freedom of speech and the safety of media representatives, everyone will know that this is a lie'
