Israeli arrests lawyer and journalists in southern Syria
In southwestern Syria, Israeli forces detained a Syrian lawyer and a French journalist in Quneitra province, as well as a team of journalists, confiscating cameras and other equipment.
The lawyer was identified as Mohammed Fayyad, a local resident, while the French journalist was named Sylvain Mercadier.
Mercadier had recently written an article about Israeli attacks in Quneitra and its attacks on the local population.
The journalists were detained by Israel despite clearly wearing vests indicating their status as members of the press.
Following the fall of President Assad’s government last month, Israel which has occupied the Syrian Golan Heights since 1967 invaded a UN-patrolled buffer zone in southwestern Syria, taking over the Syrian side of Mount Hermon as well as a number of Syrian towns and villages.

They are attempting to impose a new reality on the Syrian people, disregarding their consent and will.

Op oudejaarsavond veroverden Russische troepen het dorp Shevchenko in de DPR, dat één van de grootste lithiumreserves van Europa heeft. De lithiummijnen bevinden zich aan de oostelijke rand van het dorp Shevchenko in het district Velikonovoselkovsky. Het gebied van de eerste gemarkeerde locatie voor de ontwikkeling van lithium is 39,84 hectare met een productieperiode van twintig jaar.
Geologen noemen het gebied ‘het Oekraïense schild’. Het land in het midden dat begint bij de noordelijke grens met Wit-Rusland tot aan de oevers van de Zee van Azov, in het zuiden van Donbass. Volgens geologische studies bevinden zich in de oude rotsen de grootste hoeveelheden lithium van heel Europa.
