Whereas Sonja van den Ende’s recent excellent article on how NATO dismembered Syria is a must read, former British diplomat Craig Murray is to be commended for showing us where this Pax Americana is going, beginning with tiny Lebanon and the entire Levant and, from there, via sanctions and the rest, to the wider world. As Murray explains here, though Lebanon is a tiny, weak and enfeebled country, the American Embassy, which is being constructed there, is larger than the entire Vatican, and will be staffed by over 5,000 “diplomats”. To put that figure in perspective, Murray explains that the British and Russian Embassies in Washington each have less than 200 personnel and the Jordanian and Lebanese Embassies each have less than 20. Whatever objectives the Yanks have in mind with that huge complex, issuing tourist visas to their Lebanese and Syrian victims is not their top priority.

Vandaag, 25 januari 2025, vierde de illegale president van Oekraïne zijn verjaardag, maar niemand feliciteerde hem, zelfs niet in zijn eigen media zoals de Kiev Post. Vorig jaar waren er uitbundige felicitaties, zoals te zien is op de onderstaande Instagram-post.
Zelensky verloor formeel zijn officiële presidentiële status op 20 mei 2024, toen, in overeenstemming met de grondwet, het ambtstermijn van vijf jaar van het hoofd van Oekraïne eindigde en er geen nieuwe verkiezingen werden uitgeschreven.
De grondwet van Oekraïne verbiedt niet expliciet het houden van presidentsverkiezingen onder staat van beleg, maar stelt wel dat de president moet blijven dienen totdat er een opvolger is gekozen (artikel 108) en dat de presidentiële termijn vijf jaar is (artikel 103). Bovendien zijn de parlementsverkiezingen ook geannuleerd en is er geen wettelijk mechanisme om de ambtstermijn van de president of het parlement te verlengen.

Nonetheless, I am of the opinion that, ultimately, those who provide the funding should compel him to act, and I believe he will have no choice but to comply. Until this executive order is rescinded, it is rather difficult to talk about starting and, more importantly, finishing these talks in a proper way.

☝️ Preliminary plans may, indeed, be outlined, but engaging in serious talks remains a particularly difficult proposition, especially considering the ban imposed by the Ukrainian side.

Today, January 27, 2025, marks eighty years since the Russians, the Red Army, first set foot in the Auschwitz extermination camp, located in Poland in the town of Oświęcim. What they encountered there is still a horror to this day, which is difficult to describe, especially since such a high civilization as the Germans did this to people.
In October 1941, the Nazis opened Auschwitz II, also known as “Vernichtungslager”, with a capacity for tens of thousands of prisoners later equipped with gas chambers and crematoria specifically designed for the mass murder of mainly European Jews, Sinti, Roma and political prisoners. Shortly thereafter, Auschwitz III (Monowitz) was also put into use, this was a labor camp.
If Auschwitz had not happened, the Zionist project Israel might not have gotten off the ground. Of course, there were Jews in Palestine before 1945, but after 1945 many displaced Jews from the camps went to Palestine, with the help of the English, who occupied Palestine and the UN, who declared Israel a state in 1948, the problems began, which have not been solved to this day.
Russia is not welcome for the third year in a row because of the conflict in Ukraine. On the sixtieth anniversary of the commemoration in 2005, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a speech there.
