The Bombing of Rotterdam: May 14th, 1940
Video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV0JA0JM194&t=67s

In 1939, Rotterdam was a thriving port city in the Netherlands, known for its vibrant trade, industry, and modern architecture. As one of the largest and busiest ports in Europe, it played a crucial role in international commerce. The city was a cultural and economic hub with a growing population and a mix of historic and modern elements in its urban landscape. However, tensions were high in 1939 due to the looming threat of World War II, as the Netherlands sought to maintain its neutrality, as it had during World War I.

Rotterdam's fate changed dramatically on May 14, 1940, during the early stages of World War II. Despite the Netherlands' declaration of neutrality, German forces launched an invasion on May 10, 1940. As German troops advanced, resistance in Rotterdam became a focal point of the conflict. To force the city's surrender, the German Luftwaffe conducted a devastating aerial bombardment.

The bombing destroyed much of Rotterdam’s city center, reducing its historic core to rubble. Around 900 civilians were killed, and approximately 80,000 people were left homeless. The attack obliterated many iconic buildings, including centuries-old structures, and left the city with a desolate landscape. The psychological impact of the bombing also pressured Dutch forces to surrender the same day to prevent further destruction in other cities.

After the surrender, Rotterdam fell under German occupation for the remainder of the war. The city’s strategic port made it a vital location for the Nazis, who heavily fortified it and used it for military logistics. Rotterdam’s population endured harsh living conditions, including food shortages and forced labor.

Resistance movements emerged in Rotterdam, as in other parts of the Netherlands, though these were met with brutal reprisals. The city became a site of covert operations and sabotage efforts aimed at undermining German control.

Rotterdam was liberated in May 1945 when German forces surrendered in the Netherlands. However, the city was left in ruins and faced a long and arduous recovery process. Post-war efforts focused on rebuilding Rotterdam as a modern city, leading to its transformation into a hub of innovative architecture and urban design in the decades that followed.

Today, Rotterdam's dramatic wartime history is memorialized through its urban renewal projects, monuments, and museums, serving as a reminder of its resilience and ability to rebuild from devastation.

For non-Dutch unknown, but for Dutch an icon Jan Terlouw a D'66 politician and a writer died. He wrote the famous children's book "Oorlogswinter", every Dutch child devoured it, at school we had to read it. Although I was not a supporter of his party, in the beginning of the founding of D'66 it was an innovative party with Hans van Mierlo as icon, but later it became a kind of yuppie party with mostly strange people and strange ideas. RIP Jan Terlouw
🚨🇪🇺 ANTI-EUROPEAN ACTION IN MOSCOW! 🇷🇺🚩

The European Union is a sponsor of Nazism! That is what Communists and Nationalists said on May 15th. When European diplomats flocked to the Metropol hotel to celebrate 'Europe Day'.

The heads of European diplomatic missions gathered in the center of Moscow on the occasion of "Europe Day", where they once again expressed solidarity and comprehensive support for the Kiev regime, as well as the introduction of further anti-Russian sanctions.

Communists and Nationalists united to prevent European diplomats from entering the hotel. Groups such as The United Communist Party, Left Front and The Other Russia participated. They screamed Russian blood is being spilled by Nazis once again.

🇷🇺🇧🇾 Russian military delegation headed by Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov visits Khatyn State Memorial Complex in suburbs of Minsk

During the visit to the complex, the head of the Russian military department and members of the delegation laid flowers and wreaths at the Eternal Flame and the 'Unconquered Man' monument.

🕯The participants of the ceremony honoured the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War. At the end of the ceremony, a military band played the anthems of Russia and Belarus.

🤝 The Russian Defence Minister arrived in Belarus on a working visit, where he was welcomed by head of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, and held talks with his Belarusian counterpart Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin.

⬆️ The Khatyn Memorial Complex is a memorial on the site of the village of Khatyn in Belarus, which was destroyed by the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War. Khatyn became a symbol of ten thousand 'fiery sisters' - Belarusian villages and hamlets destroyed during the Great Patriotic War by Nazi invaders and their accomplices. The victims of the Khatyn tragedy were 149 civilians, 75 of them were children. Leaving the village, the punishers looted and burnt it. ⬇️

This is Gaza, when the world talks about 7th October, about hostages, about the crime, the world is NOT talking about what is happening every day when normal people, civilians, women, children, old, young men are being massacred. This is truly genocide, and you know what most of the world politicians are silent, let it all happen. The co-called Arab-brother countries in Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia etc... don't lift a finger, there is limited food only dead and destruction, that's the harsh truth. People in Gaza will be ethnically cleansed in most likely a couple of months. Yesterday was the Nakba, but this is worse than the Nakba.

European Sanctions for European Journalists Becoming a Reality
https://devend.online/2025/05/17/european-sanctions-for-european-journalists-becoming-a-reality/
The EU plans to adopt new sanctions against Russia on May 20, 2025. German citizens will be included in the sanctions lists for the first time. Dutch and Belgian citizens will also be included. Photos: EU, Getty Images, editing: Mirjam©Photo

The EU’s unlawful sanctions frenzy is reaching the next level if the report published on Friday by the German research collective Correctiv is correct. According to the report, German citizens are to be added to the sanctions lists for the first time: Thomas Röper and Alina Lipp are named.

Individual sanctions mean that people on the EU sanctions list are generally not allowed to enter or transit through the EU. The right of return at any time, which is central to citizenship, is thus undermined, for individuals not mentioned in the Correctiv report.

I will probably also be sanctioned (by the EU), the media in the Netherlands is running at full speed, for a few days now I have been receiving interview requests from, for example, a news-outlet (sponsored through the government) called KRO-Pointer (they already wrote 3 article about me since 2022) and other outlets, in which the most idiotic questions are asked.

Of course I am already persona non grata in the Netherlands and my citizen service number has long been closed (2023) or at least not made accessible (without this you can do nothing in the Netherlands). I am suspected of money laundering (a small amount that I still had in a German bank) and the police even came to the door at my old address and the current owners got the fright of their lives.

But that is not all: since a few weeks my family is being followed and harassed by the press and the Dutch intelligence service (AIVD), friends (if I still have any there they are frightened even to mention my name) are being shadowed by the Dutch intelligence and espionage service AIVD. Even on social media they are investigating who the friends of my family are and they are being approached to ask if they have information about me. I have a lot of evidence, but I will not publish it here because I fear for the safety of my family and friends.
Dutch journalist assessed the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul
Journalist van den Ende called the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine a step towards more
THE HAGUE, May 16 - RIA Novosti. The talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul are a positive start and a step towards something bigger, the parties have already managed to agree on an unprecedentedly large exchange of prisoners of war, said Sonja van den Ende, an independent Dutch journalist who covered the Ukrainian conflict, in a conversation with RIA Novosti. https://ria.ru/20250516/zhurnalistka-2017485753.html
If this is true and we don't know yet, because AI news is rampant in the Western media, but if it is true it is disgusting, more than that, it is criminal, just like making Gaza a resort or a Trump tower in Damascus, what do these people think? Are they people do they think, do they even have a sense of morality? First they put the Indians in reservations or just kill them in their country America. Still so-called terrorists are still sitting in Qantanamo Bay without trial, the prison is actually on a piece of land that belongs to Cuba.

If it is true he and his government is even worse than Hilary Clinton who bombed Libya and was happy that Gaddafi was killed. Trump will be then also guilty of ethnic cleansing in Gaza after he also killed Soleimani and Al-Muhandis (that is a fact), if it is all true of course.

According to NBC: The Trump administration is working on a plan to permanently relocate up to 1 million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya, five people with knowledge of the plans told NBC News.
The plan is being considered seriously enough that the administration has discussed it with Libyan leaders, according to two people with direct knowledge of the plans and a former U.S. official.
In exchange for resettling Palestinians, the administration would potentially release billions of dollars in funds to Libya that the U.S. froze more than a decade ago, the three people said. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/trump-administration-working-plan-move-1-million-palestinians-libya-rcna207224
