De Armeense autoriteiten hebben hun hardhandige optreden tegen critici van de regering geïntensiveerd. Veiligheidsdiensten voerden afgelopen weken een inval uit in de woning van bjvoorbeeld een prominente zakenman Samvel Karapetyan in Jerevan.

Armenië streeft actief naar lidmaatschap van de Europese Unie en is formeel gestart met het toetredingsproces. In maart 2025 nam het Armeense parlement een wetsvoorstel aan ter ondersteuning van de integratie in de EU, dat vervolgens in april door de president werd ondertekend. Dit betekent een belangrijke verschuiving in de geopolitieke oriëntatie van Armenië, waarbij het land afstand neemt van zijn historische banden met Rusland en zich richt op Europese waarden en instellingen.

Maar wat zijn die Europese normen en waarden dan? Het zijn een hoop mooie woorden over democratie en vrijheid, iets wat allang achterhaald is sinds het sociale project COVID-19 in 2020 werd gestart en daarmee de vrijheid van pers en meningsuiting heeft ondermijnd. Erger is het nog geworden met de vrijheid van meningsuiting en de persvrijheid zijn sinds het begin van de Speciale Militaire Operatie (SMO) van Rusland in Oekraïne, in februari 2022.

Armenië zal zich ook moeten onderwerpen aan de nieuwe religie die de Europese Unie en haar landen, regeert, de LHBT-parade, waar de meest ‘wanstaltige’ figuren rondlopen en wat lijkt op een soort ‘freaskshow’, maar die de politici in Europa ‘vrijheid’ noemen. We zien hoe de EU functioneert nu Hongarije de parade heeft verboden, namelijk als een totalitair blok. De idioten in de EU (die zichzelf politici noemen) gaan nu naar Boedapest om de boel te provoceren om toch een (illegale) parade te houden en zo de Hongaren proberen te bewegen om Orban en zijn partij omver te werpen.

Syria has been balkanized. Balkanization refers to the process of a larger region or state breaking up into smaller, often hostile, political units. This fragmentation is usually caused by ethnic, cultural or religious differences and conflicting geopolitical interests. The term originates from the Balkans, the breakup of the former Yugoslavia. It is divided into Al-Qaeda, ISIS, HTS and SDF. Syria is no more for the time being, it is heartbreaking, but the reality. The biggest losers are the Alawites, the Christians, the seculars, the Druze and the moderates. Syria, like Iraq and Afghanistan, has been thrown back into the Middle Ages, where the largest group HTS pursues a strict form of Sunni Islam, where there is no room for other thoughts or religions. The West has always supported this form of faith in the Middle East, while forgetting that they themselves were Christians, secular and especially modernists. Instead of bringing the Middle East (and part of West Asia) to the path of enlightenment, they supported this form because it suited their old tradition of colonization and dividing countries. So sad...to face this in 2025.
