For the third consecutive day, Alawite residents of the Al-Sumaria neighborhood in Damascus are under siege and facing the threat of forced eviction from their homes by the Syrian government's General Security forces.
According to local sources speaking with Syrian journalist Scharo Maroof on 29 August, authorities in Damascus have issued a 72-hour deadline for Alawite residents of the neighborhood to vacate their homes. Europe is circling the drain. From Sonja van den Ende
Let’s start with one of the richest countries in Europe: the Netherlands. Although small in size, the wealth enjoyed by elites and, to some extent, citizens some twenty years ago was enormous. I would even venture to say that, in some respects, the Netherlands was richer than Switzerland.

Visit to the VDNH Complex, Moscow- Built in 1935 and subsequently expanded, you can see all the buildings of the former USSR, its many republics, most of which are now independent countries. Each pavilion is more beautiful than the last. There's a cable car and even a Ferris wheel. The park is beautifully landscaped. If you ever visit Moscow you should definitely visit this complex

Welcoming ceremony and photo were all held at Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center, China. The Shanghai Corporation Organization (SCO)'s meeting will be held there. This year it turns out be a lot of participants, and it's much larger than the so-called G-7 in size and participants. The countries attending are good for 40% of the world trade and make up nearly half of the population of the planet. The West is loosing their hegemony both in colonialism and economy. The other part of the world is rising and the West can only look at it...

Zelensky announcing (on X he blocked me but can read the post) deep strikes will come, he writes : " We analyzed in detail the situation in the Zaporizhzhia direction and the enemy’s intentions. Also the situation in the border areas of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. We will continue our active operations in exactly the way needed for Ukraine’s defense. The forces and resources are prepared. New deep strikes have also been planned. This comes after the Russian Ministry of Defense, yesterday explained the goals of the SMO, the targets and the ongoing summer offensive by Russia.
Ursula von der Leyen was en route from Warsaw to Bulgaria, and claims the plane's GPS was disrupted. Naturally, the finger was immediately pointed at Russia.
A European Commission spokesperson says, based on information from Bulgarian authorities, that Russia may be behind the system disruption. Russia is frequently accused of "GPS jamming," which involves disrupting GPS signals from satellites in a specific area with a jammer.
The Financial Times newspaper was the first to report this morning about the jamming of von der Leyen's plane. Shortly afterward, the European Commission spokesperson confirmed the news. Von der Leyen is on a four-day tour of EU countries bordering Russia and Belarus.

Exhibition in pavilion 59 at the VDNH complex. It focuses on what it's called in Russia the Great Patriotic War, known in the West as World War II. But it primarily focuses on the current conflict in the Donbass, better known as the Special Military Operation.

President Putin spoke with Robert Fico of Slovakia, the only country represented at the SCO in China. He said, among other things: "As for any 'aggressive plans' by Russia against Europe, I would like to emphasize once again that it is utter nonsense that has no basis." He also compared the EU/NATO to a horror movie, without offending the Slovakian prime minister, who understood! Fico was the victim of an assassination attempt in 2024 an colour-revolutions (which failed so far) by the fascist EU countries. Although Slovakia is a member of the EU since 2004, he is the only premier of an EU country attending the SCO. The PM of Serbia is also there, but Serbia is not an EU country.
Father Tony Boutros, representative of the Greek Catholic Archbishop of Sweida - Shahba Church, recounts the suffering of more than 30,000 Christians in Sweida Governorate, addressing his rebuke to the Christian world. He described what happened 50 days after the terrorist attack on Sweida by the de facto authorities, which also targeted and burned six churches, and was accompanied by displacement, attacks, and thefts targeting Christians from the province. More than 250 Christian families were also harmed, and a number of innocent Christians were martyred.
Father Boutros emphasized that unarmed Christian civilians were subjected to the most heinous forms of killing, insults, attacks, beatings, and torture.
He said, "We are surprised that the voices of Christians around the world are not being heard." He thanked Sheikh Muwaffaq Tarif for his efforts and urged him, with regret and hope, to carry and transmit the voices of Christians in Sweida to all corners of the world.
He also made an urgent appeal to the international community, humanitarian organizations, and Christians around the world to condemn the atrocities committed against the Christians of Sweida and all its people, and to work tirelessly to make their voices heard by all possible means.

Ab duikt in Sonja’s ervaringen, haar werk voor o.a.
