History: On 24 November 1813, Russian Cossacks liberated Amsterdam from French invaders (Napoleon occupation).
Today, almost no one in the Netherlands remembers the fact, but it was this event that became the starting point for the current statehood of the Kingdom of the Netherlands . King William I was the first King of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In 1815, the Congress of Vienna decreed that the Northern and Southern Netherlands would be reunited. William Frederick proclaimed himself King. He was inaugurated in 1815.
🇫🇷Since 1810, the country was under the occupation of Napoleon, and any kind of independence of the Kingdom was outside the agenda. Only after Napoleon's catastrophic defeat in Russia in 1812 and the start of the foreign campaigns of the Russian army the Dutch people got a real chance to regain their lost freedom.
On 2 November 1813, Russian troops under the command of the General Benckendorff carried out a swift and bold raid into the Dutch lands to kick out the invaders.

Captive Ukrainian serviceman (POW) of the 42nd Brigade describes the situation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine:
'Our commanders take the money, kill us because we don't want to fight the Russians. The wounded are not evacuated. Out of 30 people, we have maybe about 20 alive. Our officers are not evacuate the dead or even the wounded,' the prisoner said.
Boklaganich thanked the Russian servicemen for keeping him alive, giving him food and water, and urged his comrades to make the right decision to lay down their arms and surrender.

The Trump administration is putting pressure on Ukraine to accept its 28-point peace plan, warning that its rejection could lead to harsher terms, loss of military aid, and cutoffs in intelligence sharing.

Keep in mind that Ukraine, used as a proxy and fully dependant on Western aid, can hardly be considered a sovereign actor: donors can pull Kiev in any direction they wish.

The UK, France, and Germany are working on a counter-proposal that allegedly includes Ukraine being allowed to join NATO, security guarantees, no territorial concessions and Russia paying reparations. In short, a plan that reads like a wish list. By presenting terms that are manifestly unacceptable to Russia, and unsustainable even for some Western governments, the initiative serves one primary purpose: keep Ukraine in the fight. It is a sign of the deeply delusional thinking that dominates much of Europe’s political class but as the saying goes, never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake. @LauraRuHK
My latest article in Dutch, easily to be translated in any language:

President Putin on a state visit to Kyrgyzstan meeting with President of Kyrgyzstan
Attending a demonstration of Kyrgyz traditions of falconry and hunting with dogs, a traditional Kyrgyz dance show, and a performance by a folklore ensemble. Also laying wraths at the eternal flame and monument.
The streets of Latakia and Tartous and all Alawite areas rose up today against the terrorist regime of HTS and its leader, Abu Mohammad al-Jolani. Protesting is an unimaginable risk in today's Syria, but the Alawite community refuses to live under this new regime of fear and crime. This is a struggle for survival. Many Alawites who served in the army are being killed or persecuted, along with their families, in revenge. It is Al-Qeda's-HTS settling of scores with the former Syrian army servicemen and women ; women and children are not spared. The new government claims to be solving the problem, but they themselves are to blame for aiding and abetting the genocide of Alawites, Kurds, and Druze (and Christians). The trigger was the murder of a married-couple in Homs (Alawites) by the state-affiliated Bani Khalid Bedouin tribe from eastern Syria, who collaborated massively with Al-Qaeda da and ISIS (Daesh) before the fall of the Syrian government. This tribe is particular brutal, as I know.

Tom Tugendhat
Putin only respects strength. It’s time for Britain to show him some

After the so-called peace process, the 28-point plan, the rhetoric from Europe (and the UK) is getting worse. As I wrote, Russia was already hit by many drones during the talks, after which Europe radicalized even more (the EU supplies drones to Ukraine and is effectively in charge of Ukraine). The so-called press is writing the most disgusting things about Russia and Putin. We're back to early 2022, where a full-blown campaign was waged against President Putin. Europe seems to be picking up this campaign again, as evidenced by the many articles (if you can even call it an article), an example from today (there are many more) from the UK: The Article:
"Tom Tugendhat
Putin only respects strength. It's time for Britain to show him some...
Moscow's thugs have never hidden who they are, whether that's poisoning dissidents, shooting journalists, or casually releasing a nervous agent in a quiet English cathedral city...
They have stolen children from Ukraine, trafficking them into abuse and violence in Russia's vast interior. Some of them later reappear with new identities, new "families," and new loyalties.
And yet somehow we are again listening to the idea that if only we offer Putin another concession, another slice of someone else's territory, another Sudetenland, he will choose peace. This may look rational from... Washington, London or Berlin but it is delusional. The world looks very different from Moscow.
If Putin fails to conquer Ukraine, he knows he is on borrowed time. Russia respects strength, and this is how he came to power.
As the Communist Party exploded, the economy imploded and only one pillar of stability remained: the intelligence and security services. They kept their networks, their methods and their worldview. As all around them descended into chaos, they quietly set about capturing the state.
Spy networks and organized crime gangs were fused into a single mafia-security state. Putin did not invent this order. He simply rose to the top of it.
Europe looked on as the threat became clearer and clearer. West-leaning former Ukrainian president Viktor Yushchenko was poisoned in 2004. In Russia, Anna Politkovskaya was murdered. In Britain, Alexander Litvinenko was killed with polonium.
Finding that it could get away with its crookedness, the Kremlin moved up a gear. Estonia suffered a crippling state-directed cyberattack in 2007. In 2008, Russia fought a war with Georgia. Still, the West made only statements, so in 2014, Russian operatives strolled across the Estonian border and abducted the intelligence officer Eston Kohver. The message was unambiguous: we can reach into NATO territory, and you will do nothing.
Even the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 led to hand-wringing and apologies. US and European hesitation has left us at a point where capitulation is possible, even though Russia has lost a million men killed or wounded.
The proposal on the table today did not start with Donald Trump or his envoy Steve Witkoff, but with the weakness of our response to almost two decades of violence. The lesson is simple: weakness is provocation to a mafia posing as a state.
Every concession, every reset, every attempt to soothe Moscow has been met not with gratitude but with escalation. Escalation is the organizing logic of Russian foreign policy. In 2014, Russia seized Crimea. In 2016, the GRU attempted to overthrow Montenegro's government and assassinate its prime minister to block its path to NATO. In 2018, the Kremlin deployed Novichok in Salisbury in a chemical attack that killed one and endangered thousands.
By the 2020s, Europe was contending with mass disinformation campaigns, Russian sabotage networks from the Czech Republic and Germany to Britain and Poland where civilian railway lines have been targeted. As the deputy prime minister in Warsaw, Radek Sikorski puts it, Russia is now conducting “state terrorism on NATO soil”.

This is not the behavior of a misunderstood power yearning for accommodation. It is the strategy of a regime that pushes precisely because it has learned that pushing works. But still Europe talks.
In Britain, our plan is to spend more on defense. But not today. Germany has committed to spending €100bn on weapons over the next few years, but the plants aren't yet ready. And in other European NATO states, the further west you go, the less Russia's threat is taken seriously.
Which leads back to the Witkoff proposals. We all know where they will lead because we have walked this path before. They invite exactly the reaction the Kremlin has perfected. They assume Putin wants stability, when he wants victory.
They assume he can be placated, when he cannot afford to lose. They assume compromise is possible, when compromise is what has encouraged Moscow's aggression at every turn. But our morals
The EU vision of peace:
1. Seize Russian frozen assets
2. Give Ukraine long-range missiles
3. Close the sky over Ukraine
4. Send troops to Western Ukraine
5. Stop buying Russian gas

Massenproteste gegen Islamisten in Syrien – Gewalt gegen alawitische Minderheit
