Coming back to the mats after a layoff is always a challenge, and every roll feels more difficult than it did before.

The only thing to do is train as much as possible, push your boundaries a little more each time, and know that in time the skill and conditioning will return, and then surpass where you were before.

Nothing kicks off the day better than some light breakfast rolls with the crew.

Tonight we worked on leg weave passing and then 5 minute rolls with 30 seconds in between.

You know those nights where it seems like you’re the nail and everyone else is a hammer?

I had one of those nights tonight.

Feels like you can’t do shit right, and every round is just punishment for it.

Those nights are gonna happen.

Get up and dust yourself off, sweetheart.

It’s always a lot of rewarding work on Saturdays at the temple grounds.

This place exists within an industrial graveyard, a seed of beauty taking root and growing slowly outward through acts of devotion.

Today, we are working on various projects as well as prepping the tent site and fire area for our guests for Blood on the Mats.
