“What’s the symbol in your logo and what does it mean?”

We get this question a lot, and since it’s featured on our new hoodie (preorder expires tomorrow!) we thought we would explain it.

The gym’s main logo comes from a “bindrune” that co-founder Paul Waggener designed.

It uses a combination of the Old Norse runic alphabet’s letters for “Jiu Jitsu” arranged in a way that signifies movement, flow, energy and power.

We’ve been using it on our gis and our sign from the beginning and some have gone as far as tattooing the symbol as a testament of their own devotion.
