How funny is that it's been 5 years and I'm still running into the same issue with snapd because Ubuntu's chromium package is STILL broken. Think about that, a crucial package has been shipped broken out of the box for half a decade. It always fails on the first installation, but may (or may not) work on the second or third one. 5 years with the same solution that involves purging snapd off my system. Alternatively, purging Ubuntu entirely and not touching it ever again with a 10 foot pole (which is not possible at the moment).
