Here's a tip I've made money from - find local moving companies and periodically check to see if they have left furniture out on the curbside. I have one near me that regularly puts out so much I can't even get it all. Then bring down to sell at my flea market booth or flip on marketplace. I'm sure some resell stuff themselves but many just put it curbside for free because they don't have the space.
Pieces that hold their value best are ones that can fit in an SUV or large sedan. If it requires a box truck to move, the pool of buyers plummets and usually goes for pennies or free (L couches for example).

Score. 200ish lbs of assorted welding rods that totally weren't taken from a military base. And, my aunt gave me some of my uncles stash out of his shop. (Not shown are a joiner and a table saw)

Me, with a straight piped rust bucket truck, pissing off the neighbors every month when I take scrap metal. (The scrap yard knows me by name.)

You know your dedicated to scrap when you cannibalize your own Cat converters and have an EGR delete on your truck or car.

Remember biodiesel/veg oil as fuel?
I have started keeping my frying fat (i use lard to fry).
I don't have a biodiesel processor yet, but when i do, i will have a lot of old oil/fat at the ready.
Remember that it's not good to use the same oil/fat to fry a lot of times. Gotta replace it as often as possible.

Just wanted to put out a notice that I have been getting good finds diving here lately but haven't posted them as much. I am a little stressed dealing with some future goals and achievements, so my attention has been more on the IRL stuff lately. I've got some schemes and scraps and whatnot ready to roll, but if it seems like this channel seems slow, that's why. Yall post your stuff, and I'll post it here for the fellow raccoons.
