Now, here is an idea for yall that are in between health nuts and broke. I call it "Augmented soup." Take a can of soup that is either from your preps, "on sale" food, or just food banks slop, use it as a base for your recipe. Well, if you have a garden or even just shop organic, "augment it." Add in fresh herbs and vegetables from your garden. Or even meat from your livestock, hunting, or chicken coop. I do this all the time to stretch "goy slop" into a relatively cheap and hearty meal. This soup was free from the food bank. Carrots, potatoes, herbs, and onions from my garden. Split peas from the food bank. Butter from a local diary farmer place and canned lard from last year, etc. Total cost? 0 dollars to less than 4 dollars per meal.

In a short practical way, use what you got! Home cooked and prepared meals are always better. It's also good to get creative cycling through older preps. Teaches the family to eat good through hard times. Such as snow in blizzard, power outage, or tornado devastation.

Our ancestors literally died drinking milk and eating beef with scavenged herbs. Our forefathers ate corned beef/hard tack and canned slop in the trenches, killing each other and came home men with a hunger to build. Why not you? K RATIONS? MREs? CANNED BOMB SHELTER FOOD? INFLATION STEW? Into the gut and up comes the shovel full of dirt, blood, and the masonry stained hands of a white man building house and home.
