In the GrimDark future of a peak resource future, we will all be scavengers of some sort during the decline.

Ideologies, nations and poltics come after tribes and peoples. People and tribes form after resources are secure enough. I think nations will balkanize into regions and polities' when resources become constrained due to waste, immigration, ecological destruction, pollution, resource depletion, and decline in competency. First actual scrap pile I'm taking, sometimes when you work for rich people they buy too much stuff and then just leave the rest to rot in storage. This place has alot of that.
