Did you know that plastic pollution is the leading cause of species extinction in our oceans? The population of sea lions, bowhead whales and seals are all impacted by this.

Along the coast of Sakhalin, sea life, including the Steller sea lions, faces a dire threat from coastal garbage. Tragically, these animals often succumb to their fate as they are left helpless amidst the presence of waste.

Andrey Vitulin and his colleagues tirelessly work to clear the beaches and remove the primary danger to the sea lions, such as plastic ropes and fishing nets that entangle them, causing suffocation and death. Rescuing and freeing the sea lions is a dangerous and challenging task due to their size and strength.

"I think it was a crime that we didn’t bring it up," Frida was only six when she was caught in the heart of the Minsk ghetto’s establishment. When Nazi forces took Minsk in 1941, Frida and thousands of young children were forced into a Jewish ghetto. Over 27 months of hardship, they acquired survival skills and witnessed brutal killings. Following World War II, the silence and negligence toward the vicious events in the ghetto has fostered the resurgence of Nazism.
