A big part of that comes from how we view social sciences. Fields like international relations, political science, and communication are often seen as less important, so they don’t get the attention or resources they deserve. Because of that, we end up with fewer people who can represent the country effectively on the world stage. You can see how that played out in real situations — like when Egypt managed to block World Bank support for the Nile dam.

Another major issue is media. Without a strong platform to tell our own story, others shape the narrative for us, and that can have serious consequences. We needed to invest more in both diplomacy and storytelling — not just to defend ourselves, but to make sure the world actually understands who we are and what we stand for.

And I hope this goes all well, and end up to benefit us.
